This.

(Under Dorsey: Further cuts were made and contracts signed because Dorsey only intended this to be a temp gig.)

That Offensive Line is shit. Like, if the Browns were a playoff kind of squad, maybe yeah I'd understand.

But, they still have Hue Jackson as their HC and really, why risk ****ing up his development to still lose a bunch of games?

Just ride out the suck, fire Hue for a better HC and get another higher choice to land Mayfield a 10 year anchor on the edge.

I think people forget Tyrod was throwing the football in a ****ing monsoon basically. Of course his accuracy will be ****ed. It's not like he's Nate Petetman.

Cle shit the bed on their QB pick.

That ****ed them. They could have traded down to 8, still got a legit prospect, and likely nabbed a 3rd round pick.

The rest of their draft I thought was pretty spot on...

Eh. Part of the problem for Cleveland is they settled for sloppy thirds on a QB forever, so I don't fault them for just taking who they wanted. Mayfield just wouldn't of been my first choice.

His problem is he’s like Alex Smith. Afraid to make the mistake. They should’ve fired Hue. I don’t mind Baker sitting but I’m just not a big Tyrod fan. Their OL certainly is a major issue but Baker isn’t a statue like Rosen, so I think he would be ok.

Well the problem here is the Browns were constantly in a cycle of firing coaches every 1-2 years and there isn't a coach that will turn it around completely with a team like that in a short window.

They need to show that they have some restraint and will let a guy actually establish, it's just that....too bad for them, their curelrent guy is Hue Jackson. He'll be gone by the end of the year and I would bet that Dorsey is really hoping that the Packers let fat Mike go.

I'm not a Tyrod fan either, but look at the AFC North today. Does anyone really expect them to contend in that division today?

Chiefnj2 09-13-2018 02:30 PM

1. No point playing Mayfield behind a bad OL.
2. Taylor had a bad game. Missed wide open receivers, didn't take chances, etc. That's not Hue's fault. Blocked FG, not Hue's fault. Haley had a few WTF play calls.
3. Firing Hue midseason doesn't really help anything. Let him get one season with a complete team that hasn't been "money-balled".

**** you, Dorsey.

The
#Patriots
are getting close on a deal for
#Browns
WR Josh Gordon, source said. Not official yet but headed that way.

Red Dawg 09-17-2018 01:14 PM

****ing Dorsey about to give Gordon to NE? What a ****ing asshole he is. **** you Dorsey.

pugsnotdrugs19 11-07-2019 05:19 PM

Dorsey with a big time extension for......

JC Tretter, center. https://twitter.com/rapsheet/status/...440764931?s=21

$23M guaranteed seems awful rich for this guy.

Deberg_1990 11-07-2019 05:21 PM

Glad they found their “Franchise” center.

Megatron96 11-07-2019 05:23 PM

Right now Dorsey is looking a little foolish with the Kitchens hire. And 23M for a center seems high. But then again, I also think paying Dak more than 15M is a stretch . . .

BryanBusby 11-07-2019 05:29 PM

Tretter has been good for them and the price is around market appropriate.

It's too early to tell yet. But right now, I'm not seeing a drop off from Dorsey to Veach. Dorsey has definitely improved the Browns, but he's not doing well in the head coach hires. It's looking like the resurrection of the Chiefs from 2-14 to perennial playoff contender was more to do with Reid than it was Dorsey.

Agreed. I think it shows just how integral to success good coaching is vs. just having talented players.

Dorsey and others in that organization thought all they had to do was put a bunch of good/great athletes/talents on the field and they would be guaranteed a winning season, regardless of who they installed as HC.

The result has been a catastrophic failure.

I am thoroughly shocked by this take.

smithandrew051 11-07-2019 07:22 PM

The Dorsey tenure in Cleveland will ultimately be judged on how Mayfield and Kitchens pan out.

As of now, Dorsey is (arguably) 0-2.

Dorsey made a big mistake by going to Kitchens instead of just staying with Robinson. He could have always gone to kitchens later but he can never go back.

This is because Dorsey might be showing the fact he wants weak personalities he can control so he gets no push back personnel wise. King Carl once Shotty was gone was like this and let's not mention Vermeil(conflict of interest there) Pioli didn't realize how much Haley was not a yes man but Pioli is another control freak. Look at Jerry Jones(Garrett is a yes man). Look at Elway. They all hire wussy coaches who won't buck the system. Elway learned his lesson with Fox and Kubes as well. Look at who he hired after Kubes was gone.

Dorsey is following the same pattern IMHO.

What makes you or anyone else believe that Dorsey has complete control over personnel as well as players?

BWillie 11-07-2019 09:08 PM

Baker Mayfield sucks, don't get me wrong, but he has got to lead the league in WR drops that end up being interceptions.

I think he's an NFL QB, but not a good one. Maybe a back up as a spark plug like Fitzmagic.
