and buck with his routine flyout

Chiefless 05-05-2009 10:07 PM

C'mon Royals...It's DJ Friggin Carrasco.

irishjayhawk 05-05-2009 10:07 PM

Where's Ken Harvey when you need him?

petegz28 05-05-2009 10:08 PM

And here comes Avilles with his usual weak ground out

alnorth 05-05-2009 10:08 PM

ok Aviles, I expect you to stop disappointing me right now.

KCCHIEFS27 05-05-2009 10:08 PM

I've heard word that if one accrues enough neg rep, a fat bitch will magically appear from your monitor and force you to lick her pearl.

Clearly, he was trying to expedite your encounter.

not in this situation. He is mandated to give Wright the win because he will have been the only pitcher of record with the unsurrendered lead. You only get a choice if more than one relief pitcher pitched after you took the lead for the final time.

It usually goes to the first reliever in that situation unless he was spectacularly bad.

KChiefs1 05-05-2009 10:09 PM

Aviles is not the same player this year.

Wa-Z 05-05-2009 10:09 PM

gosh!!

petegz28 05-05-2009 10:09 PM

Way to drive the ball Avilles......

KCCHIEFS27 05-05-2009 10:10 PM

Come on Aviles, Mike Dorn that one..it was barely going the speed limit. See, now you pop out, weakly!

Good assessment.

DeezNutz 05-05-2009 10:10 PM

Aviles has been incredibly disappointing thus far...

**** we have a hole in our lineup if we go to the 11th.

chiefbowe82 05-05-2009 10:10 PM

this game has officially been going for four hours

CaliforniaChief 05-05-2009 10:11 PM

You know we're in some trouble when we're just begging for the walk-off homer...C'mon Coco, put it out!

petegz28 05-05-2009 10:11 PM

Hillamn deserves to lose this game....the players deserve to win. Especially after being ****ed by a call at the plate

He was a FA, no?

alnorth 05-05-2009 10:12 PM

unless Carrasco has a terrific move, a steal attempt is almost mandatory here

DeezNutz 05-05-2009 10:12 PM

You know DeJesus is going to try to pull the ball because LF has scared him all night.

CaliforniaChief 05-05-2009 10:12 PM

Can Callaspo play shortstop full-time? Then when Gordon returns we're set.

DeezNutz 05-05-2009 10:13 PM

I think I was watching a game where a starter had to leave after 4 innings due to injury, but had the lead...and one of the announcers said the official scorekeeper could give him the win even though he didn't pitch 5 innings...is there something in the rule book for that?

Say a guy guys 4 scoreless to start the game...and his team ends up winning 2-0 or something...(and they were winning when he was taken out)...is the scorekeeper mandated to give the W to the pitcher who pitched the 5th inning?

DeezNutz 05-05-2009 10:16 PM

600 posts in a game thread in early May. Cool.

OK, its like this.

Starter leaves with 2 outs, reliever comes in, totally sucks ass gives up runs but gets the 3rd out. They take the lead. 2 or 3 relievers come in after that to finish without giving up the lead. Scorekeeper's call.

In this case it (would have been) Wright and only wright, the other pitchers are not eligible because we did not have the lead. You MUST have the lead that isnt later given up before being taken out to even be qualified for a win.

Sure-Oz 05-05-2009 10:19 PM

0-6 nice game duh jesus

petegz28 05-05-2009 10:20 PM

The problem there with not having CoCo steal is the lack of pressure on the pitcher. You put a guy on 2nd and now all the sudden he has to worry about a lot more shit.

baitism 05-05-2009 10:25 PM

I love long extra inning games because the announcers completely run out of stuff to talk about, and just talk out of their ass.

alnorth 05-05-2009 10:26 PM
