All KC would have to do is offer him the Asst HC job and he can leave STL because that's not considered a lateral move.
If the Chiefs want McDaniels, they can get him with or without STL's help. |

Rams interested in Bowles as head coach
http://www.stltoday.com/sports/footb...9bb30f31a.html St. Louis Rams @stlramscom Rams interested in Bowles as head coach Is this good for McDaniels in terms of retaining his Job? Or would he have better luck remaining on the Team if Fisher was brought in? Sounds like Fisher is leaning towards the fish.... |
McDaniels' problem to me is that he is the anti-Al Davis. Al Davis only cared about QB physical attributes, with McDaniels, and his hard-ons for Tebow and Cassel, he seems to attribute Brady's success to intangibles rather than intangibles + physical talent + mental talent. I wouldn't really have a problem with McDaniels if Cassel was jettisoned.

@getnickwright: An infuriating #Chiefs coaching search update coming your way right at 2pm...
Hmmm wonder what this is about... |

"Pioli and Hunt are having trouble finding a candidate willing to maintain the current direction the team building is going. Candidates are wanting more player personnel control while Pioli is unwilling to give up said role..." |

They are frustrated that every potential coach and / or OC wants to dump Cassel. |

Sounds like Clark believes it was indeed all Haley's fault because of all the great draft picks and FA decisions made by Pioli... |
If McDaniels is a part of this team.....I won't be watching.
|
You would think Hunt would get a hint when all these coaches come in and say no because the GM has all this power.
|
Thinking back....I think Lamar would have promoted Romeo. It's easy, everyone thinks it's the right thing to do and it just gives you that warm fuzzy feeling inside. But I think Clark is different. I still think he is the one that fired Haley, for better or worse and I think he looks at Romeo as to old and the short term answer. That's not what he's after. He wants what the Steelers have, longevity at the HC position. So I think he will look for an experienced yet, younger offensive mind and throw a few more bucks at Crennel to stay on as D.C.
If I were a KC columnist this would be my opinion other than everyone of them saying they are hiring Crennel and putting their pens down. Whatcha think? |

But on the other hand, I have a feeling that Haley's actions towards the end, may have Clark pining for a little more maturity representing his franchise. |

I'm told Jeff Fisher believes he'll have made a choice by early next week. I'm also told there's a surprise team entering the mix. |
What was the news? Del Rio?
|

I'd say a better chance now, by the way, that McDaniels lands in KC than New England. But Chiefs need to sort out who's head coach first. |

**** me.
I'm getting pretty damn tired of Patriots West. That franchise is gonna crumble in 3or 4 years when Tom Brady retires. They will have a shitty ass defense and a shitty ass offense. And the Chiefs will be where we have always been. I'd like to trade Pioli back to NE and let him go down with BB and that burning sinking ship. |
Fisher will sign with whoever will make a push for Peyton
& pay him the most |

Raiders now plan to hire Packers director of football operations Reggie McKenzie as their next general manager. |
Is that good or bad?

How's he going to stop the penalties

I don't think we would be a surprise team entering the mix since we already interviewed him.

Vermeil/Green?

The Chiefs could do a lot worse (cough cough Romeo, Del Rio) than Mularkey.

It's funny how when we have a HC every poster is a philosopher about how "great coordinators" don't equate "great head coaches." Norv Turner, Wade Phillips, and many others are sited as examples.
Yet, as soon as we need a HC all ex coordinators who have already failed as HCs become the object of Planeteers' desire. I'm still on the Band wagon for fresh new coaches. The reason I am accepting the Romeo scenario is that, save for Clements, I don't see any young up and comer this year and I consider the Crennel hire a temporary stopgap one until some young gun appears on the scene. |
Maybe someone knows the answer.
If I remember correctly.....RAC has 1 year left on his contract. Can they promote him to HC without giving him a new contract or extension? |
Rams have told Josh McDaniels they won't hold him to his contract. If he wants to leave, they'll let him.

Josh McDaniels is the OC. NE has complicated it with the Penn State deal. (But Pioli can offer the future HC position after RC retires) Tom Brady has gotten a lot of people jobs. (Very True!) |
