Here is a better question.....

What's the LOWEST price anyone has acquired Bitcoin here?

Can you sell partial pieces like 1/2 a bitcoin or is it all or none?

I know a dude that got in when it was under a dollar. He is a millionaire several times over now. Like 10’s of millions. Bought a Lamborghini from an LA dealership that took bitcoins as payment. It cost him under a grand on his original investment, including delivery to KC, that was 5 years ago.

This is the true fork. Small block Segwit vs. Big block Non-Segwit

One will assume all value in the end. BCH looks like a contender. I seriously hope all BTC hodlers have access to their private keys and can access their BCH. I hear Coinbase will allow access on January 1st, quite a ways away.

Bitcoin gold is shit. None of the major exchanges support it. BCH can be bought by transferring BTC into Poloniex.

Jewish Rabbi 11-11-2017 07:08 PM

The more I read the more I think BCH is just a temporary run up, and those who buy now will be holding the bag.

Jewish Rabbi 11-11-2017 07:12 PM

My thought was also that BTC would drop to around $5500 after the dump off from the S2X fork, so while watching this isn’t fun it isn’t totally unexpected.

I’ve read that the miners are supporting Bitcoin Cash and selling off their bitcoins and changing them into Bitcoin Cash...after the SegWit2x fork was cancelled there are serious questions about scaling with the legacy bitcoin. I sold at 6900, but I might buy back once it hits 5600-5800, the next fib level.

Also, Bitcoin gold doubled in value today.

The difficulty bomb drops in a few days for BCash. They are over 3 months ahead of the legacy block chain. Miners will be back to BTC shortly.

Iwent by the nasdaq article saying Bitcoin would drop to 5600 a few days before the drop and sold my bitcoin at 7200 and rebought at 5750.

Even after fees, I made out quite nicely and moved some back to Ethereum in case that goes up. Ethereum is severely undervalued imo.

Thanks, NASDAQ.

Crypto keeps getting more legit. Got my first bitcoin 2 days ago planning to convert it to Ripple, since I'm on Coinbase and you can't buy Ripple directly. The bitcoin I bought for $6755 2 days ago is trading at $7940 right now. Ripple is about 23¢. Picked up some Ethereum too. I'm just learning the basics of this crypto stuff, but one thing that's becoming pretty clear is that blockchain is a complete game-changer.

Tether (USDT), a start-up that offers dollar-backed digital tokens, has reported a theft of nearly $31 million from its platform.

The company, which helps exchanges convert fiat currency into tokens and aims to serve as a proxy for the U.S. dollar, said in a statement on its website that $30,950,010-worth of its cryptocurrency USDT was taken from its treasury wallet on Nov. 19 and sent to an unauthorized bitcoin address. Tether described the incident as a “malicious action by an external attacker.”

Tether added that the stolen tokens won’t be redeemed but will be flagged to prevent the hacker from exchanging them through its service. The firm plans to release an update of Omni core, its software for partners, in order to lock up the tokens it claims were taken and blacklist the stolen address.

“These builds should prevent any movement of the stolen coins from the attacker’s address,” Tether said in its statement. “We strongly urge all Tether integrators to install this software immediately to prevent the coins from entering the ecosystem.”

Tether also temporarily suspended its back-end wallet service to assist in its investigation. (See also: Gold and Blockchain: An Unlikely Power Couple.)

Bitcoin reportedly dropped as much as 5.4 percent, the most since Nov. 13, on news of the theft, according to Bloomberg. The cryptocurrency has since regained some of those losses.

Tether’s allegations mark the latest in a long line of reported cryptocurrency hacks. Other major victims of thefts from exchanges include Japan-based Mt. Gox and Taiwan-based Bitfinex. Bitfinex, the largest bitcoin exchange platform, lost 119,756 bitcoins, estimated to be worth over $979 million today, over a year ago.

Tether and Bitfinex are believed to have a common owner, according to Coin Desk. This hack has furthered speculation and rumors that the pair have been working together to manipulate the market and that this latest attack on Tether was an inside job. Ethereum got up to 445 today after Casper launched and it should get above 500 in the next week. Cointelegraph is advising heavy buy if it corrects to 400 and says the most likely scenario is to go above 500 with a target objective of 665!

BigRedChief 11-24-2017 09:19 AM

I was mining Bitcoin back in the early days. Got around $20 worth before I tired of it, too much work and checking my bots. Swapped it out for some music. Could be a multi- millionaire?

I've worked hand in hand with some of the best hackers in the world. Worked in a place that was hacked 1 MILLION times a day, every day. Anything electronic can be hacked. It cost major money to protect something electronic. Government/State kind of money. Maybe its worth it for these 900 people but not the rest of us, no way. But, even then you cant mitigate the human weakness out of the system.

The cheap tech available to protect everyone's electronic money isn't available yet. The tools/scripts to hack are priced so low and retail available with a simple google search.

This has been a huge bull run that I’m sure is close to due for a market correction.

I’m thinking about gambling a bit once Bitcoin gets to 10,000 today or tomorrow and sell it off in anticipation of a consolidation which will present a nice buying opportunity to get more bitcoin for the same dollar. Sell high buy low.

Risky, but this whole thing is risky.
