You can't trade the guy. He's a DPOY candidate and has been dominant in there.
Add more around him and let him eat. |
The Chiefs only have the number 1 run defense in the NFL in large part due to Chris Jones. What a dumb idea. Glad to see Jones has a sense of sarcasm lol
|
put a legit edge threat next to this guy and watch our whole DL turn into sack machines. I mean we saw it a bit last year after we added Ingram.

It’s time to start the conversations about a huge extension with Chris. Even with a year left on his deal, if we can tack on sone years after next year at an AAV of Donald’s deal, it needs done. He’s a god damn unicorn and wrecks whole game plans. Lock him up forever, clear some cap space and let’s go.
Dude is playing at a level rarely seen and flat out dominating. Should be a finalist at DPOTY if he keeps it up. Also, **** the refs. |
This might be his best season yet, so not surprising.
|
He’s beasted out this year in a way never seen before, forget the sack #’s.
He’s become an elite run defender as well as a pass rusher. Dude is laser focused and just killing people. We need to do a BIG extension with him this off season to keep him around another 3-4 years, at least. |
Quote:
I’ve seen enough. He’s as rare as it gets for a defensive player that attacks the run and pass with violence and efficiency and it’s just an added bonus he does it from the interior. He keeps getting better, is going and has every tool you look for. Dudes playing like a total game wrecker. He ended the Indy game until the refs stepped in and has made multiple game changing plays every week. |
Quote:
|
he's also getting sacks from the DE position, which is proving long term, it was a smart move by spags
it's also going to increase his price tag |

Where's that brain dead cuck Wall Crawler?
|
9 sacks and 10 TFL this year. 15 QB hits.
how much we paying him, or is this a tyreek situation? |
Quote:
|
At this point it's between him and Parsons for DPOY.
|
His play on the last drive was so freaking good. Who knows how stressful it gets if Herbert picks up say 15 quick yards there. It snuffed out and glimmer of hope. Herbert thought he was being clever and that made it even better.
|
God I love this man. He's been almost as instrumental in our wins as Mahomes. The guy just comes up in the biggest possible moments and is clutch as hell.
|
Chris is going to set a record year. We're seeing a fully realized Chris Jones.
|
****The Chris Jones Thread****
|
I like the quote from Patrick during his contract negations telling Chris that he "left some crumbs on the table" so Chris would get his.
Seems like $50 mil/yr is a bargain for 10 yrs QB now days. He was on with Rodney Harrison after the game. https://youtu.be/1jWpKJTzsPs Damn, that guy is built:) |
Quote:
|
Soooooo glad we paid him. He was double teamed like every single play today, and still made several key stops.
|
jones mentioning his missed sacks on burrow last year in the AFCCG
job ain't finished |
says he loves spags
|
We need to extend Jones, he’s a chief for life!

2.5 sacks and 6 QB Hits.
That’s a pretty dominant performance. |
Jones was destroying the Faiders O-Line all game.
He easily could have had a couple more sacks. Dominant performance by the big man. |

Take a bow big man. You earned it.
|
Not that it was some big debate, but Chris just cemented his name in the ring of honor tonight
|
Jones is going to start getting Hall of Fame talk soon.
|
Get this man extended. :toast:

100 sacks from an interior player who was also critical in at least one championship and several conference championship runs. That's a HoF resume |
Boy he went in dry on some narratives last night.
Clay said it, but that was a Reggie White type performance. |
Quote:
Donald has 490 combined tackles, 178 assists, with 103 sacks in 138 total games. Jones has 243 combined tackles, 75 assists, with 65 sacks in 107 total games. In 31 games, essentially two more seasons, Jones would have to double his combined tackles, assists, and get 40ish more sacks to match Donald's numbers. Shows you how insane Donald has been in his career, but if Chris Jones wins 2 Super Bowls, and Donald only has the one ring, it at least gives him a leg up. So if you extend Jones for another three to four years, the likelihood of him reaching another Super Bowl with Pat and Co in that time is pretty good. |

I heard Colin Cowherd the other day talking about the Niners' talent. "Trent Williams... future HOF George Kittle... HOF Joey Bosa... HOF Fred Warner... Watched a couple interviews after the game with him, and he's just a great dude. Seriously just a quality human being. Class act.

I love Jones, but if he wants to be paid the top money that will put a damper on the future of this team being able to afford other talent, they have to treat him like Tyreek.

Brown. 4th best player on the OL That is a pretty easy answer for me. Jones. |

Without knowing the dollar figures for both and potential trade return, it’s impossible to say. |

It simply doesn't come down to that. OBJ, if/when he costs us guys, will cost us the ability to retain someone like Sneed and/or Bolton. Or we may have to move on from Thuney. And while Thuney is better at playing G than Jones is, he's also just a guard. We've found adequate G play from several different sources including the waiver wire. It's just not a valid question. |
