I'm not optimistic at all about this year.
Berry likely will not report to camp; Houston might not even play, if he does his knee won't be 100%; Hali's knee is still ****ed; We have no starting corner opposite of Peters; We have no legit no 2 WR; Jamaal isn't practicing yet. |

God, that's tragic |

We are going to have a target on our backs this year, too. No more sneaking up on people. This is going to be a dogfight and I'm afraid we have too many puppies. |

How many games of that winning streak was Houston at 100% for? And even then, if he misses a large chunk of the season, it's because he's working on recovering 100% and getting into football shape. I doubt he'd be as gimpy as he was last year post-injury |

Peters is Peters, Parker is solid. The big difference between last year and this year is the OL. Fisher got into a groove at the end and is stronger, Schwartz is really good and Morse said he's gotten even stronger. |

Teams don't have targets on their backs, teams don't sneak up on other teams. Who honestly believes this garbage? |

"They looked past us" "we snuck up on them " are easy to make. No way of proving(or best for them disproving it) do they can just keep saying it. |

I hate those indoor facilities, the ball is hard to track in the air.

KeiVarae Russell probably good for defensive player of the day. Had an INT during team work. DJ White had an interception as well. This is good news. Rookies showing up early. Anxious to see how well Chris Jones and Parker Ehinger do with PD's on tomorrow. |
Sounds like working out with Maclin in the offseason has payed off for Maclin and Wilson. Terez said they both looked really good today.
|
Lost alot from last year's defense. Added injuries to houston and hali, plus the berry situations, could be bad.

Do you really think he won't be out there week 1? Same for Hali. |

Tamba is ****ing Tamba. He's a warrior. He will be ready to go. I saw he had been working out with his MMA guys before camp, so I'm sure he's been working his ass off like usual and they're just taking it easy with him. You don't sign that guy to that contract without knowing he's going to be able to go. He's not coming back from a serious injury or anything. Berry is trying to get a huge contract. No way he doesn't come in ready to play week 1 Also, how do you know it is a distraction to the team? This team has proven to have a next man up mentality. If anything, it's just giving us an opportunity to see what we have in the rest of the group after Parker. |

The vets wont be hamstrung by the lack of activity and reps like a younger player would, they'll round back into form quick enough For now this is a great opportunity for the younger guys to polish their game... no worries |

is it safe to assume Streater hasnt lost a step post injury and the Raiders/Del Rio were just idiots keeping him inactive every sunday

Just have to hope it works out quickly. I'm guessing berry is back with the team when they break camp in St joe. |

maybe 3rd safety? But there are a lot of vets competing for 3rd safety no? (Fleming, Sorenson, Brown, Cooper, etc) It's really only like 3 positions someone new might be getting the car keys to start and they have a year already in the Chiefs system (in Nelson's case or those 45 Inside Linebackers we have stashed) |
O has lost his mind. Bitten by a wild Mals??

Quote:
Unless someone gets hurt, the Chiefs should have 9/11 starters on defense that they had last year with Gaines/Ford who are in year 3 of the system. |

Head's probably in the wrong place too. Won't even be in football shape most likely. Could get hurt. Just a lot of "ifs" this year. |

If I choose to be negative about a player who currently has a very negative situation, that is my right. Please be nice to everyone here and permit all to state their opinion. We can all get along, Chiefs fans. |
Quote:
You can even make the argument that it's a positive because his body will be more fresh, and he shouldn't be any more rusty than he was at the start of last season. Berry didn't look like himself till a few games in last year. No chance it takes him that long this year. |
Quote:
As soon as Fisher gives up a sack, you'll be on here posting something about how overpaid he is and that he is a draft bust. I'm not stopping anyone from stating their opinion. I'm just pointing out your bullshit. |

Eric Berry, the guy who had ****ing radioactive poison injected into him every week for four months and only weeks later was participating in an NFL preseason football game, might not be ready to play football if he holds out all of training camp.

I remember Revis holding out with the Jets and it took more than a season to get him back to elite status. |
lots of guys haven't been ready if they hold out TC and preseason.
Julian Peterson tore his achilles after holding out all of camp one year. here is an article from a former NFL player: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...-training-camp Quote:
|
And that time when Tony Gonzalez missed all of training camp in preseason because of his holdout...
Oh, wait. He actually was a ****ing baus that season. Like he was every year before and after. |
Quote:
You really gonna go that far back to try to prove your point? There's no way of proving whether any post holdout injury was in fact due to holding out. Football players get hurt. DJ, Berry, and Charles have all had ACL/achillies injuries early in the season after being in camp on time. Shit happens. |
Smellway (Clay) trying to not get MU'd while claiming Berry wont recover better from not going to camp than beating cancer.

There's concerns for the Chiefs like any other team, but to not be optimistic about this team is foolish.
This is a true heavyweight contender as it is comprised. |
At least our schedule isn't strong.

If Berry gets hurt, his price tag goes down. I'm fine with letting him sit out preseason, he's looking out for himself like he has all offseason.

I've been watching KC for a very long time and went to tons of camps...Bray has the best arm and deep accuracy I've ever seen in person. |

Reid needs to call it Alex Smith needs to practice it and take the shot The more we do it the better it will get. If we can even be just average with the occasional deep ball our offense will take a huge step forward. better protection will help |
