That's the steal of the whole CP mock right there.

Kids gonna be a top 20 pick.

Awesome job!

Then why did you draft Tim Williams?

Not going BPA?

This shows how deep cb is in this draft

I already took a CB for Philly in the second round, so it's logical to pass on another one in the third, IMO...even if the talent is there, the need isn't as pressing. Plus, there are lots of options left that I have high on my board.

If Awuzie fell to KC in the third, I was gonna be thrilled...I can see Williams, Mahomes and Awuzie all going in the first round....so that would be a value home run.

When I sent 3 picks to DJ (in order of my preference if others got selected prior to my selection) the 3 were

1)Tim Williams
2) Quincy Wilson
3) Awuzie

Everybody is all over the place on the kid.

Some have him as a first round guy...others have him falling to the 5th or 6th round.

He's soaring up draft boards, though.

By the time the draft rolls around in a month, the kids gonna be a top 20 pick....jmo.

This draft is just really really talented.

I'm still deciding who I want to take here for Philly...I have it narrowed down to 3 guys.

I'll have my pick in shortly.

BossChief 03-25-2017 05:55 PM

In the third round of the 2017 NFL draft, The Philidelphia Eagles select Chris Wormley, DE/DT, Michigan

They lose Bennie Logan and replace him with a guy that consistently gets to the QB on a rookie cheap deal.

The bills are on the clock.

He's got a legitimate shot of going round 1. Had I not been able to make the pick, I had him listed as #1 when I PM'd SNR earlier. That all said, good pick and I'm sure you'll gain at least a +30 rating after the draft.

I had him ready to go for the Jags but went with a tweener in King

Marco Polo 03-25-2017 07:14 PM

The Bills go BPA and address some depth in the defensive line.

The Buffalo Bills select Dalvin Tomlinson, DT, Alabama.

The New England Patriots have chosen a player for their pick #96 and are suing the league for the right to go ahead and take that player now.

staylor26 03-25-2017 09:25 PM

The New Orleans Saints select Bucky Hodges, TE, Virginia Tech

This is strictly a BPA pick. Hodges has the potential to be a serious weapon in this offense, and Thomas/Ross/Hodges for the final years of the Brees era (and potentially for his eventual replacement) is too good to pass up. Getting McKinley and Conley (along with year two for Bell and Rankins) with my last two picks makes me comfortable gambling a little bit here to try and make this offense unstoppable. Also, Fleener was a bit of a disappointment last year, and I've never really been a fan.

Rain Man 03-25-2017 09:42 PM

New England will allow that selection.

Direckshun 03-25-2017 09:43 PM

New England will allow these picks. Our court case against the league will be heard on Monday, and we'll likely be making our pick immediately thereafter. In fact, we'll likely make all of our picks then.

The fatties continue to come off the board. In the 2nd round, Minnesota got a pretty good guy to take over for the undoubtedly shitty Riley Reiff, whenever he decides to blow goats at RT, but in the mean time, Minnesota got themselves a pretty damn good RG. Now they fill the left side.

Minnesota needs some draft hits. They've had few in the upper rounds in recent years. They know this guy's brother damn well and really like him. They absolutely want more of the same.

Sac smiles upon the state of Minnesota on this day.

The Minnesota Vikings select Isaac Asiata, OG, Utah

Minnesota's OL is a complete ****ing dumpster fire, and the Sam Bradford trade ****ed them over completely. They had a pretty good backup QB in Shaun Hill, and now they've "upgraded" to a sucky starter while wiping out their 1st round pick. Oh, yeah, and they owe him money, too.

I don't regret either of my picks one bit. They just weren't going to find immediate starters after this round. Had to take them now. Meanwhile, there will still be starter-quality LBs and decent depth at WR and secondary positions later in this round and into the 4th. The Vikings are set up pretty well if they replicate what I'm doing here for them.

RealSNR 03-26-2017 01:13 PM

11 compensatory 3rd round picks were awarded this year

I think it's time for the NFL to adjust the contract brackets that determine comp picks. It shouldn't be this easy for a team to earn a comp 3rd rounder.

I've always found this system odd. When you think about it, it helps the more powerful teams against the weaker teams, because they're more likely to lose players. I thought that parity was a league goal, and this works against it.

I don't know if it necessarily favors powerful teams, but it does favor certain types of teams.

The Browns could easily use this system to their advantage. They've been terrible for a long time, so they often see a lot of players leave them just because those guys want to get the **** out. At the same time, they struggle to attract the high quality free agents because they suck. It makes total sense to just **** the market, only spend money on your own guys you want to keep, and not try to fill in gaps with free agents that will lose you those extra picks. Eventually, even if you're Cleveland, you'll probably hit on enough of them to generate a competitive team.

That's not exactly what they do, though. They're constantly going out and trying to use free agency to their advantage, under the illusion that they can get out of this mess by filling in the big games with mediocre veterans and assemble some kind of team that will eventually be good enough to crack the playoffs.

That being said, it would be interesting if the league took away the comp picks. We'd see a lot more balance when it comes to the structures of teams, and it would be better for getting players to stick around the league longer instead of running out their rookie deals and then getting dragged by the dick because they're too expensive. Why pay solid important contributor when you can let him walk and find another one with the extra 5th rounder you'll get next year?

CleveSteve 03-26-2017 02:06 PM

SNR for a long time the browns had that problem. They had been awarded the fewest comp pick of any franchise. They have been awarded 4 each of the last two seasons though under the current management. I don't expect any next season as they signed Zeitler, Tretter, and Britt this offseason.

That's great to hear. Hope it works out for them. I ****ing hate Pittsburgh, Baltimore is boring, and I'm getting really sick of being forced to think Cincinnati is a good team. You know what also sucks? Seeing the top 4 of your board get picked off one-by-one just as you're about to make your selection.

Seriously. The Vikings picked at 79. Before pick 72, here was my order of preference:

A couple from North Carolina traveled to Hawaii last month to pursue their dream of having a "dolphin-assisted birth" for their baby due in July, the Charlotte Observer reports.

The couple is hoping to bond with animals in the wild, spending time in the water with them before and after the birth. If the new parents are "lucky" they may even even be able to have the baby in the water, The Sirius Institute, the organization helping with the odd birth plan, says on their website.

"It is about reconnecting as humans with the dolphins so we can coexist in this world together and learn from one another," the mom-to-be told the Observer. It brings "peace, comfort and strength to the mother and baby during labor," she added.

This is a very bad idea.

Although dolphins can be incredibly intelligent and are often affectionate toward and form bonds with humans (they have been know to give gifts to people in Australia, team up with Brazilian fishermen, and blow fun bubble rings, for example), the animals can be incredibly dangerous, too.

They try to rape and drown people; they gang rape their females and sometimes hold them hostage for weeks; they murder baby porpoises for fun; they kill the babies of rival male dolphins, because as soon as her child dies, a female dolphin is ready to be raped and impregnated immediately.

Unless the dolphins are raised in captivity and specifically taught how to interact safely with humans, they are still wild animals that can weigh up to 600 pounds.

What?!

DJ's left nut 03-27-2017 08:48 AM

This is just a tough draft to navigate for the Broncos. There are some truly great picks left on the board right now but at positions of nominal need for the Broncos. Meanwhile, at positions where they truly need help, the draft was thin and by now it's pretty much barren.

But with their interior line aging and getting more expensive/less productive, the Broncos see a bit of a find here in a guy who doesn't appear to have gotten a ton of traction in many corners but still has athleticism and upside you don't often see in the middle.

The Donks select, Jaleel Johnson, NT - Iowa

There are better picks to be made here but they just aren't the right fit for the Broncos right now.

There are different rules for weekends (and I believe evenings) due to the reality that many of us are far more active on CP during the weekdays. So the 12 hour clock is suspended on weekends (or at least lengthened significantly to 24 hours or something like that).

Just a little more balls or bust than I want to see in the 2nd, but that's pretty much the nature of 2nd round picks - 1st round talents that have question marks.

If the other guy I really like I still there with my comp, I'm taking him, need be damned.
