Not going BPA? |
This shows how deep cb is in this draft

If Awuzie fell to KC in the third, I was gonna be thrilled...I can see Williams, Mahomes and Awuzie all going in the first round....so that would be a value home run. When I sent 3 picks to DJ (in order of my preference if others got selected prior to my selection) the 3 were 1)Tim Williams 2) Quincy Wilson 3) Awuzie |

Some have him as a first round guy...others have him falling to the 5th or 6th round. He's soaring up draft boards, though. By the time the draft rolls around in a month, the kids gonna be a top 20 pick....jmo. This draft is just really really talented. I'm still deciding who I want to take here for Philly...I have it narrowed down to 3 guys. I'll have my pick in shortly. |
In the third round of the 2017 NFL draft, The Philidelphia Eagles select Chris Wormley, DE/DT, Michigan
They lose Bennie Logan and replace him with a guy that consistently gets to the QB on a rookie cheap deal. The bills are on the clock. |

The Bills go BPA and address some depth in the defensive line.
The Buffalo Bills select Dalvin Tomlinson, DT, Alabama. |

The New England Patriots have chosen a player for their pick #96 and are suing the league for the right to go ahead and take that player now.
|
The New Orleans Saints select Bucky Hodges, TE, Virginia Tech
This is strictly a BPA pick. Hodges has the potential to be a serious weapon in this offense, and Thomas/Ross/Hodges for the final years of the Brees era (and potentially for his eventual replacement) is too good to pass up. Getting McKinley and Conley (along with year two for Bell and Rankins) with my last two picks makes me comfortable gambling a little bit here to try and make this offense unstoppable. Also, Fleener was a bit of a disappointment last year, and I've never really been a fan. |
New England will allow that selection.
|
OP updated.
My selection coming shortly. |
Arizona Cardinals draft Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State.

is the next pick in bout two hrs? |
New England will allow these picks. Our court case against the league will be heard on Monday, and we'll likely be making our pick immediately thereafter. In fact, we'll likely make all of our picks then.

thanks clevesteve
if it gets sooner to work I will what did you think of my Smoot pick for bears couldn't believe he was there in the third |
The fatties continue to come off the board. In the 2nd round, Minnesota got a pretty good guy to take over for the undoubtedly shitty Riley Reiff, whenever he decides to blow goats at RT, but in the mean time, Minnesota got themselves a pretty damn good RG. Now they fill the left side.
Minnesota needs some draft hits. They've had few in the upper rounds in recent years. They know this guy's brother damn well and really like him. They absolutely want more of the same. Sac smiles upon the state of Minnesota on this day. The Minnesota Vikings select Isaac Asiata, OG, Utah |
The stupid ****ing rat ****ing pig ****ing dumb**** lucky shithead Indianapolis Colts have been PMd
|
Half the draft in a week. That's pretty solid, folks.

I don't regret either of my picks one bit. They just weren't going to find immediate starters after this round. Had to take them now. Meanwhile, there will still be starter-quality LBs and decent depth at WR and secondary positions later in this round and into the 4th. The Vikings are set up pretty well if they replicate what I'm doing here for them. |
11 compensatory 3rd round picks were awarded this year
I think it's time for the NFL to adjust the contract brackets that determine comp picks. It shouldn't be this easy for a team to earn a comp 3rd rounder. |

The Browns could easily use this system to their advantage. They've been terrible for a long time, so they often see a lot of players leave them just because those guys want to get the **** out. At the same time, they struggle to attract the high quality free agents because they suck. It makes total sense to just **** the market, only spend money on your own guys you want to keep, and not try to fill in gaps with free agents that will lose you those extra picks. Eventually, even if you're Cleveland, you'll probably hit on enough of them to generate a competitive team. That's not exactly what they do, though. They're constantly going out and trying to use free agency to their advantage, under the illusion that they can get out of this mess by filling in the big games with mediocre veterans and assemble some kind of team that will eventually be good enough to crack the playoffs. That being said, it would be interesting if the league took away the comp picks. We'd see a lot more balance when it comes to the structures of teams, and it would be better for getting players to stick around the league longer instead of running out their rookie deals and then getting dragged by the dick because they're too expensive. Why pay solid important contributor when you can let him walk and find another one with the extra 5th rounder you'll get next year? |
SNR for a long time the browns had that problem. They had been awarded the fewest comp pick of any franchise. They have been awarded 4 each of the last two seasons though under the current management. I don't expect any next season as they signed Zeitler, Tretter, and Britt this offseason.

You know what sucks? I have to wait until comp picks to make another selection.
So I'm sittin' here suckin' on my big ol' chili dog while the rest of you make """""value""""" selections that honestly make me wonder if any of you watch football. |
Shots fired.

Round 4 is up.
Keep in mind that New England forfeits their pick they received from the Saints in this round (would normally be pick #118) because they're a bunch of dirty dirty stinkin cheaters |

Seriously. The Vikings picked at 79. Before pick 72, here was my order of preference: 1. Chris Godwin 2. Chidobe Awuzie 3. Bucky Hodges 4. Dalvin Thompson You can go fist a cow, good sir. And the rest of you can go swimming in the ocean and get dragged into a dolphin rape cave. |

This is just a tough draft to navigate for the Broncos. There are some truly great picks left on the board right now but at positions of nominal need for the Broncos. Meanwhile, at positions where they truly need help, the draft was thin and by now it's pretty much barren.
But with their interior line aging and getting more expensive/less productive, the Broncos see a bit of a find here in a guy who doesn't appear to have gotten a ton of traction in many corners but still has athleticism and upside you don't often see in the middle. The Donks select, Jaleel Johnson, NT - Iowa There are better picks to be made here but they just aren't the right fit for the Broncos right now. |

OK, someone should probably update OP in that case. Didn't mean to jump you.
But still, if you're on the clock and you log in, you should probably make your pick. |
I updated the rules in the OP. Yes, we generally suspend the clock on the weekends because it's hard as **** to get people on here then. And I'm back now....so I'll keep the OP updated.

Don't forget to add DJs player to the list
