Exactly. Maybe these idjits will take the hint, subtle though it is, and make like a tree and . . . leave? Would be the respectful/courteous thing to do . . .

addendum: This offseason really sux.

The thread title doesn't include the word 'religion' or Catholicism or anything remotely close to what you guys are busy whining about.

Heh. I was just thinking that Butker is probably the most famous kicker in NFL history now, and it's probably not close at all.

Listen,

Harrison can say what ever he wants because he never misses.

ghak99 05-18-2024 03:52 PM

Imagine the look on Clark, Andy, and Brett's faces when the greatest Chiefs kicker of all time told them he's willing to step away from the NFL if need be.

We know Tavia obviously broke out the speech writer in his defense. Did Tammy jump in the kitchen and break out the special home made cookies that all our lineman loved? Did Brett's wife make a move?

He’s not going anywhere, in fact I bet they build a Catholic Church next door to keep him. Guy comes in about as clutch as Jesus did when playoffs come around

Megatron96 05-18-2024 03:59 PM

Actually, he might be the most famous NFL player of all time now. There's plenty of people, I even know many, that don't give two shits about football/the NFL and have no idea who Mahomes is, and would never care no mattr how many SBs Pat won.

But Butker gives one little speech promoting traditional Catholic/family values at a small Catholic school most people never even heard of a couple days ago, and bam! everyone with a cellphone knows his name.

We live in a freakshow world.

35/36 in the last two playoff runs and the only miss was on that slippery turf in Arizona which ended up hitting the upright. He can launch a podcast on how the world is 600 years old, the moon landing was staged and dogs will rule the Earth and I’d still be good with Butker.

I was at that 95 playoff game and watched all the others where missed FG’s ruined our playoff chances(90,97,99, 2017 etc.). There’s no other kicker I want on this team and I hope he plays until he’s 50.

DaFace 05-18-2024 04:08 PM

We can unlock this thread when there's football to talk about. Until then, you know where you can continue arguing about this.

Megatron96 08-19-2024 10:45 AM

Thought this should be posted here as well. Butker is already finding ways to break the new kickoff:

Has a kicker ever won MVP? It's crazy we were just content letting him kick it from 50 on a miss and go home situation. He's just so automatic.

Best kicker evahhhhhh

Appreciate it when we can. Those type of kickers are far and few.

A hell of a find by Veach. Veach was the GM on July 10, 2017 and poached Butker on September 26, 2017 from Carolina's PS.

VAGOMO 4 LIFE! 09-15-2024 05:49 PM

I think Mark Moseley with the Redskins in the early 80s

MarkDavis'Haircut 09-15-2024 05:54 PM

Wonder how Taylor felt about him kicking? Haha.

He is probably the best in the league right now.

Butker's clutch resume is likely better than Vinatieri's at this point. He's amazing at what he does. Unprecedented.

Hamwallet 09-15-2024 06:14 PM

We have Mahomes and Buttkicker. Started with the Ravens and the Bengals and came out 2-0. Buttkicker is the difference maker when it comes down to it and he is NAIL!

Vinatieri has the slight edge in Super Bowl winners right now.

Compile the resumes.

Vinatieri only has one more than Butker. I suspect Butker will at least match him at some point.

WilliamTheIrish 09-15-2024 06:34 PM

That ball seemed like it was still 35 feet in the air as it passed the uprights.

smithandrew051 09-15-2024 06:34 PM

I’d also add that Vinatieri has a career long of 57 yards.

Butker has 3 seasons with a season long that was longer than that.

And that ladies and gentlemen is why he is the highest paid kicker in the NFL, and worth every penny. 51 was automatic.

ghak99 09-15-2024 06:41 PM

I know it's just a regular season game, but imagine being so good at your job that the best QB in the league, and maybe ever, is completely fine just handing the game over to you to win.

Fish 09-15-2024 06:42 PM

It was kind of impressive the level of trust that they showed in him to finish that game. And he ****ing drilled it. Love it.

mlyonsd 09-15-2024 06:43 PM

I hope he gets a chance (not in a game winning situation) to attempt the longest kick record.

Hammock Parties 09-15-2024 06:56 PM

I was thinking before the kick, it was no gimme, and the football gods already gave us a gift with the 4th and 16...this might be too much to ask.

LMAO

Few years ago in Cincy, Butker missed a long kick when they really needed it. McPherson never misses against the Chiefs. Butker has drilled some really clutch kicks against Cincy in the last few matchups.

Pablo 09-15-2024 06:58 PM

The guy is just automatic. And everybody I know loves his POV on life and stuff!

Chiefs Kingdom has the GOAT kicker on their team, that fraud Tucker has been dethroned.

PHOG 09-15-2024 07:21 PM

Money well spent. The GOAT of kickers.

I remember telling my wife in his 2nd or 3rd year here that I didn't worry about it when he's kicking FGs, even long ones. I think it was the game at LA where he kicked a couple of 50+ (one might have been something like 59 yards) FGs in that game. I had seen enough up to that point to realize that the guy is clutch. Sure, like any kicker, he's gonna miss one occasionally. But most of the time, he makes them.

I remember that. We played Washington on MNF and I my BIL told me we signed a new kicker. I was like wtf because, as I recall, we had an okay kicker at the time. Obviously, Butker turned out to be much better. So props to Veach.

smithandrew051 09-16-2024 07:54 AM

Butker kicking the game winner against the Chargers 3 times in a row from 50+ was one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen a kicker do.

Hammock Parties 12-26-2024 11:01 PM

Harrison Butker needs 10 field goals this postseason to move into second all-time for postseason FG, behind Adam Vinatieri.

A more realistic scenario would by tying David Akers for third-all time, with 7 field goals.

Hammock Parties 01-06-2025 01:25 AM

Looks like he's out in front of the ball, like he messed up his footwork and was too late swinging the leg. Just weird. Plenty of leg.

Butker was awesome today, especially with the added context of Houston’s kicker missing 7 points on 3 kicks.
