you weren't getting this level of play from #29. to get an elite player, you were going to have to give something up, and a #2 in next year's draft is 'capital'. No big deal. You also gained 8 spots in round 3 THIS year. Seattle just paid the shit out of Russell Wilson. They needed to clear space. Clark is a dominant, elite level DE. We weren't going to do better. |

That says a lot about how Ford is viewed around the league, too, and why the compensation for Ford was what it was, and why he agreed to a deal that was so team friendly. Ford is an oft-injured one-trick pony best used as a 3rd down specialist. And the league knows it. Massive upgrade. |

This is seriously fireable. It's a panic move from a GM that has shown himself increasingly prone to it. Hes a hell of a scout and a trash general manager.... |
We should be spending money while our qb is on a rookie deal.
We're finally taking risks. Good. |
I don't see how you can't be excited about this. Watch Clark play and look at the stats and listen to the experts who say he's a huge upgrade over Ford. I initially balked at the compensation a bit, too, but who the **** really cares? This is the sort of move that a championship team makes. This is going all in for Cueto and Zobrist. The Mahomes rookie contract window is wide open and they're going to do everything it takes to fly through it.
At a minimum, Frank Clark knows which side of the neutral zone to line up on. Last year, that would have literally been enough to GO TO THE SUPER BOWL. ALL IN, MOTHER****ERS!!!!! |

Can anyone confirm that the 2020 2nd round pick is the Chiefs' and not the 49ers'?

Crap trade. Good player but the chiefs got fleeced again. This is becoming a veach staple.

The Chiefs retain the higher second round pick. So essentially we traded a third round pick since we will be winning the super bowl this year

If his drafting were better, I can cut slack on the compensation for trade-outs. If his negotiations for extensions were the kind that made you say, "how did we get away with that"(?), I can cut slack on the drafting. Do you even SOMEWHAT understand the point I'm trying to make here? Like, at all? |

I have just checked the draft chart and basically the Chiefs traded the equivalent of their 29th overall pick and a low 3rd/high 4th round pick this year for Frank Clark, assuming the Chiefs finish with a top 3 record next year.

Whoever they get has about a 1% chance of being on Clark’s level... IMO |
An extra second next year to move up and draft Fisher's replacement so we can save some dough.
