The MRI has confirmed the #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes suffered a dislocated kneecap, but not significant additional damage, sources tell me and @JamesPalmerTV. He’ll seek additional opinions to be sure. The plan is for him to return this season after a brief absence

I'm sure he'll push the timeline to play as soon as possible but with a banged up knee and ankle there's a pretty good argument to just let him rest and get well and come back at closer to full strength.

Look I'm seriously not trying to be a Debbie Downer here, but are you guys reading the same tweet I'm reading? "Not SIGNIFICANT additional damage" means there IS additional damage, or else it would say "NO additional damage", or am I nuts here? Thus 3 weeks out being the best case scenario, right? Again I could be missing something. Am I?

I think you're missing the point that a dislocated knee cap is, in itself, "damage." There's no other issues. You are indeed, nuts.

I don’t think it’s at all dependent on how Moore does. It’s 100% on how Mahomes recovers and the risk of reinjury.

Right, it is "damage", it is not "additional" damage. Thus why I found the verbiage used in the tweet to seem to indicate there is damage beyond the dislocated knee cap. I suppose we'll all know more as more info comes out. I guess my focus is just on a different part of the tweet than most, certainly the quoted timeframes from people seem positive, and certainly it seems there is cause for optimism.

Me? Are you actually going to tell me that Brady is more important to the Pats than Watson is to the Texans, Arod is to the pack, Wilson is to the Seahawks? That would be some old fashioned Brady dick sucking if that were the case.

Brady is probably about 6 or 7 on the list of reasons as to why the Pats are 5-0 right now. He’s been legitimately bad in half of their games. I’m not saying the dude is unimportant in the grand scheme of things, but right now? They’d be perfectly fine without him.

Priest31kc 10-18-2019 02:33 PM

Yeah I would sit him until after the bye. Gives him 6 weeks to heal up and his ankle should be damn near 100% by then.

How limited will he be though with a brace?

And will he need surgery in the offseason? Or is it minor enough to where 6 weeks rest will be enough? If not, will a full offseason of resting it get it back to 100%?

If hes not 100% in 6 weeks, will he be more prone to injuring the knee by playing on it?

And even when hes back to 100%, will he be more prone to dislocate it again down the line, or is this just a fluke one time thing?

So many unknowns still and I dont like it. But still great to see it was best case scenario and no ligament damage. I'm just scared out of my mind that he could reinjure it worse if he comes back this season and hes not 100%.

Hammock Parties 10-18-2019 02:52 PM

The Patriots are 6-0.

The rest of your post is even more incorrect.

Pct Yds TD Int Sck QBR
Regular Season 65.4 1743 10 3 10 97.5
Career 64.1 72257 527 174 483 97.6

This projects to 28 TD's/9 INT, 4648 yards and a 97.55 QBR for the regular season. If forced, I would bet that Brady will be more like 35/7 and 4800 yards.

The Patriots are focused on running the ball this year early as the O-Line is in shambles and and the receiving core is thin. Both of these will be addressed in typical BB fashion in time for the 2nd round of the playoffs (thank you bye week!) at which point the Patriots O will feature whatever works best against the team they are facing. If you make the playoffs and get to the AFCG (if) the O game plan could be almost anything. It will all work.

The rest of your post is even more incorrect.

Hey, no prob.

But seriously, why would I kill myself? Over football?

Hell, if anyone would be considering THAT right NOW it would be.....

...well, YOU.

I mean considering your GOAT just got hurt on a QB sneak (while already hurt) and your defense would get run on by a women's prison team.

Looks like that start to the dynasty needs a jump!

But maybe Moore is the answer? If the Patriots could go 11-5 with Cassell at the helm and the Walrus in KC making the decisions....

Nah!

If that is the extent of it AD that gets his ankle back too, then he escaped clean almost. No one wants to see a player of his magnitude get hurt.
