I hate that the Wolves and Grizzlies are playing each other in this first round. I wouldn't mind seeing either team win. Minnesota hasn't won a series since 2004 and Memphis has had a bunch of solid teams over the past decade that just couldn't make much noise come playoff time. They did make the conference finals in 2013 but got swept by the Spurs.

dirk digler 04-17-2022 04:04 PM

Kyrie is a weirdo but is a great ****ing player. What a shot

dirk digler 04-17-2022 04:06 PM

I see Playoff Demar is 6 for 25. Seen that before.

Agreed. I like both teams a lot, but I'm cheering for the Wolves.

I wonder what the idiots who claim "there's no defense in the NBA" think about literally every playoff (and play-in) game up to this point.

Gonna need you to move to Denver for a few months, but definitely no longer than that....

And if the ****ing Cards host the Super Bowl next season....

Booker out with a hamstring issue. That sucks ass, hope it’s not serious.

KC_Connection 04-19-2022 10:56 PM

Phoenix can still beat the Pelicans without him, but that's a potentially championship deciding injury if serious.

Not a good one, no. He makes a few more of those shots usually, but I think he's been out of gas (possibly playing hurt) for quite some time now and has never looked quite the same since the ASB. In any case, this particular Raptors team doesn't have a true offensive #1 option and they're asking FVV and Siakam to do more than they are really capable of.

They need to hope Scottie Barnes can be that guy in the future. He just might be.

If he doesn't gas out. I thought the Raptors series would be more challenging.

Still, the 76ers will have to go through both Miami and Bucks/Celtics/Nets. Those are tough matchups.

smithandrew051 04-21-2022 10:39 AM

Warriors-Sixers would be a fun series as a KU fan.

Give me Embiid and Wiggins in the Finals.

That's always the problem. He tends to get hurt somewhere along the line eventually, but until then, he's a dominating force.

And yes, this current iteration of the Raptors is no competition compared to the Heat/Bucks/Celtics (I don't think particularly highly of the Nets right now if Simmons is not going to play). We'll find out about the 76ers soon enough.

Plus his skillset was pretty much non-existant 8 months before he got drafted.

30 college games and his NBA career he went from 0 to where he's at now.

That's truly incredible.

I hadn’t heard anything yet, thanks for the update. Oh well, I guess it could have been worse. I know Paul will be fine, but the rest of team will just have to step it up. I wish Shamet would be more what we hoped for.

I've never been so excited about watching a particular basketball prospect than watching Embiid's few months at KU. You could see flashes of the HOF/MVP level player he'd become and it just happened so quickly. It truly felt like his potential was limitless.

POND_OF_RED 04-21-2022 06:42 PM

That was a big time run to end the half and hopefully swing the momentum back in the Grizzlies favor. Was getting out of hand quick. Hopefully Edwards injury isn’t anything too serious for Minnesota. He’s been playing great…hate to see injuries in the playoffs.

Anyone have a stream? Hulu took a shit.

Coogs 04-21-2022 07:50 PM

Crazy game in Minnesota tonight. T-wolves were up 47-21 in first half. Grizz cut it to 7. T-wolves took it back up to 83-62 late in the 3rd. Grizzlies went on 21-0 run to tie it. Grizzlies lead by 5 with 5 minutes to go.

Coogs 04-21-2022 08:01 PM

Up 10 now with 1:17 to go! Unbelievable!

Pablo 04-21-2022 08:03 PM

Wow I was watching in the first half and figured the wolves were destined to win this one. Guess not

Sassy Squatch 04-21-2022 08:04 PM

Woof. 9 points in the 4th quarter.

POND_OF_RED 04-21-2022 08:06 PM

Fantastic comeback by the Grizzlies. I think benching Adams has affected Ja a little offensively with the drop-off in pick and roll action, but it looks like the decision to change up the lineup has become the difference in this series. Brandon Clarke was huge tonight. The most talented 1-15 roster in the league stepped up big time and never gave up even with Ja having an off night.

It was also fantastic watching Pat Bev try and convince himself he could carry a team offensively in the 4th quarter tonight. I cheered every time he put up a 3. ROFL

MVChiefFan 04-21-2022 08:32 PM

KC_Connection 04-21-2022 09:09 PM

Towns took 4 shots? Had 5 rebounds? I mean what is he even doing out there?

lcarus 04-23-2022 07:12 PM

I hope Boston wins tonight so there can be another chance for a 3-0 comeback. Toronto has that opportunity also. I hope they do it. I don't know why but I've always wanted it to happen since it has never happened. I've seen 2-0 comebacks when it was a best of 5 series.

Orlando got beat by a combined 58 points in games 1 and 2 against the Heat in 97, and they were down by 25 in game 3. They came back and won game 3, won game 4, then lost a close game 5. Could've been one of the greatest comebacks and upsets in NBA history. The Heat were a Finals contender as a 2 seed and 7 seed Orlando had an interim head coach and only like 7 active players. I was so disappointed when they came up short because I never gave up on them.

Sassy Squatch 04-23-2022 07:56 PM

Nets going to get swept in the first it seems.

KC_Connection 04-23-2022 09:54 PM

The Timberwolves owner owns the huge corporate egg farm that uses an inhumane (but legal) way of suffocating the chickens to death. That’s why the protests have been aimed at the Timberwolves.

I thought he was still the majority owner until Lore and Rodriquez purchased the other 40% in 2023 from what I was reading. I know he’s definitely on his way out, but I thought currently he was still the majority owner. You would definitely know more than me about the T-Wolves though.

Only two series look interesting at all, Memphis/Minnesota and Dallas/Utah. Don't think the winner of Memphis/Minnesota have any real chance against the Warriors based on what I've seen, though.

Maybe Atlanta can make a series of it against Miami if Lowry is seriously injured, but I doubt it.

Bitchmade Ben Simmons. He really should be banned for life--not because he's at risk to play, mind you---but because he is going to try and earn money for work he has no intention of doing when he's fully capable of doing it.

Just a complete loser since LSU. I'm fairly certain this back injury is simply just a way for him to win his salary grievance hearing against the 76ers this summer. He wants that money but he's never going to get it.
