How about you just shut the **** up and log off CP for the night?

Your takes are getting shitty old.

Kman34 01-02-2023 08:09 PM

I'm just... upset..

Spott 01-02-2023 08:10 PM

I really hope he’s ok, but this reminds of what happened to Hank Gathers. Just awful.

TribalElder 01-02-2023 08:10 PM

I missed it, a player died on teh field I guess damn

493rd 01-02-2023 08:10 PM

Should PPD this game until they know more. But will they?

Megatron96 01-02-2023 08:10 PM

Some kid in HS took a fastball to the chest i don't know how many years ago and apparently it hit him in just the right spot, stopped his heart, and he ended up dying, iirc.

KCUnited 01-02-2023 08:10 PM

This is going to be some cringe coverage to fill time

ChiefsCountry 01-02-2023 08:10 PM

Scariest shit I have seen since Dennis Byrd game against the Chiefs 30 years ago.

MMXcalibur 01-02-2023 08:10 PM

I don't know how you keep playing after that.

Prayers up for Hamlin.

This is horrible. I don’t think they should keep playing this game. All we can do is pray for him and hope like crazy that the doctors can help him.

Those situations occur when the ball hits the chest at just the right second during cardiac rhythms. If the heart has contracted at a certain point and the heart has expelled blood and the valves are closed (maybe open?) then a sharp blow to the chest will literally make the heart stop and it’s very difficult to bring someone back in that circumstance.

that’s why they’re doing CPR and why this is a very serious injury.

They typically don’t do CPR in an ambulance. Very difficult to use an AED, etc..

IrishChief 01-02-2023 08:11 PM

Both coaches shook hands there after speaking to refs. Must be being postponed.

DrunkBassGuitar 01-02-2023 08:12 PM

jesus shit man what a ****ed up situation

like he wasnt doing anything crazy or dumb it looked like a normal hit.

I mean I know all the players know it's a violent sport and you can get injured on any play but I can't imagine what the players are going through seeing that.

really hope hamlin's okay but I don't think I've ever seen a player need CPR

I'd be surprised if they cancel unless the unthinkable happens. When Mike Utley got paralyzed the game continued. When that Bills player took the hit on a kickoff they continued the game. I think they continued after Chuck Hughes, though I'm not sure of that.

I'm not saying it's a good idea or a bad idea, but there's no precedent of suspending a game due to injury.

Imon Yourside 01-02-2023 08:12 PM

What a weird game, everyone all fired up then this. Not sure how but the game will probably go on. Pray the guy is ok.

stumppy 01-02-2023 08:12 PM

Damn, that hit just didn't look that bad.

Kman34 01-02-2023 08:12 PM

They need to postpone

Megatron96 01-02-2023 08:13 PM

Pretty sure they continued the game after the Shazier accident.

ThyKingdomCome15 01-02-2023 08:13 PM

I am not a doctor, but if he stood up after the hit, doesn’t seem like a Dennis Byrd, Mike Utley type paralysis situation.

His stagger and fall looked eerily like Hank Geathers.

JustDíqLix 01-02-2023 08:14 PM

They should call the game.

How are you going to make the Bills go back out there and play after watching one of their friends - someone they see and interact with and play with every day - almost die on the field?

CPR and IV access is something heart related awful awful. Hopefully it has the same outcome as Keyontae Johnson he collapsed during a game at Florida. Now plays for Kstate and is ballin

No, it's definitely not a concussion when said player did not use his helmet, and just collapsed, and resulted an ambulance on the field and having to administer 9 minutes of CPR.
