Yeah, always better to be arrested for drinking or being high at the scene of an accident. :doh!:

Needs to lawyer up and turn himself in ASAP.

As long as no one ends up seriously injured out of this and they can’t prove he was drunk then he may end up relatively ok.

Hopefully if that’s the case, he takes this serious wake up call to heart and realizes he needs to get his shit together asap.

There is no logical reason to leave the scene of a major car accident involving your own car unless you're inebriated or have an outstanding warrant. People saying that it would have been best had he stayed are living in cloud cuckoo land.

Yup, exactly right.

TMZ pictures looks like he is with 4 other guys? Let this thing sit before you say ANYTHING. If zero proof or pictures, you were NOT the driver Rashee. Throw your fall guy $100K and lets all freaking move on here.

Obviously the other 31 teams will be pushing for the biggest suspension possible. Won’t be shocked if it’s 10+ games. League office will not want to be seen as going “too easy” on the 2x defending champs.

There were a bunch of people at the scene who saw the guys get out of the Corvette. So I guess the cops would need descriptions from witnesses about the person who appeared to be the driver.

jerryaldini 03-31-2024 11:25 AM

If he were to get off lightly for fleeing the scene it sends a terrible message to the public about what to do in a drunk driving accident. Cases I've seen it's punished more heavily than DUI, as it needs to be for deterrence.

If there were no serious injuries as I've seen multiple times, why is this being called a "major" accident? Are there some criteria I've never heard of that define a difference between major and minor accidents? It seems like calling it a major accident at this point is serious exaggeration.

This is soooooo NOT necessarily true... I was at a party in HS. Got shit faced and couldn't drive. Somehow a friend of mine ended up with my keys and my car and trenched people's yards and ended up driving that car through a 7-11 glass front store. He bailed. Police were looking for me for 2 days. I was sleeping it of at a girl's apartment. Never knew anyone was looking for me. Of course that was a different time, but sometimes it's all just a big misunderstanding, and then things get cleared up. Hoping that's the case here certainly not going to jump to any conclusions until we hear all the facts.

Racing on a highway and causing serious bodily injury (like a broken arm) is a Felony 2 crime in Texas. This is not a misdemeanor offense.

You're error is assuming the NFL gives half a **** if they're consistent. They've been crushed on punishment since they turned it over to Goodell. And they just don't give a ****.

Is that correct? I have no clue what the answer is, but it was during the summer IIRC and he may have signed with the NFLPA if he'd declared for the draft.

I don't know the rules, but it's possible he was an NFL employee at that point.

The Jalen Carter accident happened a few months before the NFL Draft. Apparently he had perfect timing to do something very stupid and end up with essentially zero consequences from it.

Rice obviously knew he would be identified as being in the vehicle. He had 3 of his boys with him or if two were in the other car at least one other passenger. Someone either was intoxicated, maybe just high but usually when you are high you just drive slow. Maybe one of them had an unregistered firearm or illegal drug paraphernalia. But there has to be a reason why you just leave the scene on foot and it looks planned. My guess is hes going to try to have his buddy take the fall.
