CB Taron Johnson (Left Shoulder)

Quote:

Johnson scared everyone when he landed on his left shoulder awkwardly with his arm fully extended late in the fourth quarter as seen above. He slid out of bounds and grabbed at his shoulder as training staff tended to him. He remained on the ground as Dr. Bisson began working on his shoulder as seen below performing what looked to be the Kocher Method to reduce the shoulder.

The mechanism of injury strongly suggests a subluxation of the shoulder which is a partial dislocation. It’s possible it was fully dislocated but the fact that he returned to the game suggests it was a subluxation.

This is not the first time that a player has returned to the same game with a shoulder subluxation/dislocation this season. Kaiir Elam suffered the same injury tackling Tyreek Hill back in Week 9, had the shoulder reduced, and returned to the game. I expect Johnson to be limited throughout the week but play with a shoulder harness and still be effective in coverage. Tackling may at times be an issue if he has to extend, but he can still be a problem for any offense.

He did play most of his rookie season with a right shoulder labrum tear which means he is no stranger to managing the injury. The Bills training staff will have him ready for Sunday.

On Monday, Sean McDermott noted that Johnson is sore but didn’t give him a designation.

You bitch about the team in the GDT to protect your emotions if the team loses because at least you’ll be able to say, “I told you so.” And it didn’t happen. Again and again and again and again.

As though a QB having a numb leg is in any way conducive to playing the position at a high level.

But a DB's shoulder? He ain't gonna feel a damn thing in that shoulder. They'll have that thing shot with every sort of horse tranquilizer and numbing agent known to man.

Won't make a difference at all unless/until he lands on it and potentially ruptures something. Aggravation is a risk, but he can play with a separated shoulder.

I did predict they'd win by 11 points, and they won by 9 after an intentional safety.

I believe he was a gameday inactive for them last week.

On a defense that ain't exactly loaded with start talent in the secondary, he still wasn't good enough to even dress in a playoff game.

Something tells me he'll be available this off-season if anybody wants him...

As I eluded to after the Texans game, none of these injuries mean anything until game day inactives come out. Then we can care about the injury report. People fawned all over Mixon’s practice status last week and then he came out and crushed. Unless someone is ruled out, you can assume it’s all systems go.

Buffalo is excellent at creating turnovers. Arguably the best in the league this season. Mahomes has to be careful with his decisions & throws. The skill players need to be careful with carrying the ball too. Buffalo is very good at stripping the ball (just ask Mark Andrews).

Why Not? 01-20-2025 05:56 PM

I have confidence. I believe that we will win (came up with that myself) and everything. My only concern is more bs math than anything else. Allen is such a good player, I can’t seem to avoid thinking that one of these playoff games, he’s gonna be the guy that makes a winning play. Now you can argue that :13 seconds was that game and we stole it from him and that’s a fair point. But are we really gonna go undefeated for life (meaning in this case, the Mahomes era) vs the Bills? Every other all time great to go up against a playoff rival at least 4x has at least one loss to that rival. I say it’s “bs math” because the reality is that every game is different but I think we have to lose one of these eventually? Don’t we?

Sure. Yeah. Might well be this one. Probably a few more down the road.

We're not going to win 15 straight Super Bowls.

Chris Meck 01-20-2025 06:04 PM

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

I had resigned myself to my beloved Chiefs never winning the Super Bowl. That we would never have an elite QB. And then Mahomes happened. And so many things I never even dared to dream of have come to pass.

This is house money, fellas. This team has brought me more joy than I ever thought was possible. Whatever happens from here, I'm just enjoying the ride.

Of course I want to win. And we will win PLENTY, for several years to come.

But we're so far past what I ever thought was possible that I'm not losing any sleep to heartbreak no matter what happens now.

Just enjoy the ride.

I do want the 3-peat.

Because it will be, at worst, tied for the most incredible feat in NFL history until the end of time. Nobody will EVER win 4 in a row.

Someone may win 3 someday, but nobody's ever winning 4.

We do that and it just finished any argument as to the greatest single stretch by a football team in NFL history.

And realistically it's our only shot at it. It's asking quite a bit to think we'll get another B2B in the next 6-8 years before Mahomes starts to decline.

Uh, no. It’ll totally suck if we lose. But I’m also not as mentally weak as you so I’ll understand every season won’t end just as I want it. You inexplicably can’t even appreciate that on a game-by-game basis, let alone looking at the sequential seasonal performance.

I had high expectations for this season given the offensive improvements and the ability for the defense to recover from the loss of Sneed. But I didn’t hold out a lot of hope for a threepeat given how tough that is and a very thin margin of error.

This season has “sucked” as a fan of a team that went 15-1. Not that much fun in the most remarkable fashion.

But now we’re on the doorstep of another SB. And none of the nonsense from this season matters. Reid and Spags have two individual gameplans to throw out there.

It would be so ****ing cool and special if they’re able to figure out the next couple games given what this team has gone through this season.

Peyton finally got Brady after something like 8 seasons in the league. That's close to where Allen is at

He's probably going to get at least one at some point, but will it be this Sunday? Maybe, but odds are not

This/these games are always going to come down to the last 5 minutes and/or overtime and who can make the plays when they count and the bounce of the ball. Thats the margin in all of these

Wait, who brought up my car? Not me bud. Stop hating bro.

I've felt all year long that Andy has had this game against this opponent in mind. I'm curious to see what exactly he has up his sleeve.

Did you black out and forget your history on Chiefsplanet?

Is this an Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind situation? You just wipe your memory clear of past behavior and think it doesn't matter?

We're not going to win 15 straight Super Bowls.

Well not with that attitude

It's annoying.

You can’t tune it out? Why not? Because it’s more fun to find validation amongst your pseudo-friends when ganging up on someone you find objectionable. I get it. But you’re dealing with the guy who doesn’t care. So carry on dude because nothing affects me. I’m not upset at the heat I take I think it’s funny you people get so butt hurt about it. Put me on ignore problem solved.

So we’re talking about my car now? What you wanna know? Just stop already. You’re beat. If you don’t like what I say put me on ignore like a grown up. That, or STFU.

You're a wet blanket, dude.

A whiner.

The only validation that exists here is that, yes, we are fans of the KC Chiefs, and we come here to talk football with other Chiefs fans.

And you're here to bitch, and complain I guess. Constantly.

I’m spent TwistedChief. Just noticed you’re in Chicago now I get why you’re such a miserable SOB. I live nearby and have been to that cess pool I get it bro. You need a shoulder to cry on?

Nah, man. I genuinely get a kick out of people like you. Do what you do repeatedly and I'll always be there to point out the sadness.

You get a kick out of people like me? Cool that’s great good for you glad I amuse you. Whatever makes you happy. Being in Chicago it’s hard to get a kick out of anything so happy to help.

For those of you who attempted to derail this thread and make it about 493rd shame on you.

Is there any incentive for this project?

I'd much rather just keep laughing at you, but if there's a name change or ban involved, then I'll give it a shot..

I’m merely asking you to validate what you claim is true of me. And I’m 100% you can’t, and won’t. Let’s laugh together at your inability to do what you say.

ljmhawk 01-20-2025 07:05 PM

I think the key is stopping Cook…you shut him down and they are a totally different team.

Our defense, especially now, is better than their defense. Our offensive ceiling is clearly higher with Mahomes as QB and we have Kelce, Brown, Hopkins, and Worthy in the receiving room. But we haven’t been playing to our offensive ceiling. We can win this game and we will if we play closer to our offensive ceiling. But if Mahomes has another game under 200 passing yards and the only receiver of note is Kelce, winning will be much harder.

I was more joking about all the people I’ve seen on Twitter say there is no way the refs let KC lose. LMAO

I told several if they were so sure it rigged for KC bet a ton on the $ line and prove you believe it.

IMO, their defense is good enough to stop our offense, and their offense will be too much for our defense to stop long enough, for our offense to get its shit together. Our OL has real issues. So, the plan should be ball control. If the Chiefs win, its gonna go down to the wire. If the Bills win, it could be decided earlier.

This is going to be a long week. What do we suppose is the appropriate amount of force and by what method to knock oneself out for six days but be perfectly fine upon awakening?
