On obviously passing downs, just plant someone there. I would much rather have two people on the left side blocking than have that extra player going out for a pass.

If they ran, they would have had to spike on 1st down and would have only had 2 plays after that to try to get a touchdown anyway. Basically the same situation as they ended up having.
