I don't think it is Reid consciously going conservative. I just think he out-thinks himself and, as someone posted earlier, tries to creatively out-think the other coach and just ends up confusing his players.

Hill's speed is a great weapon that Belicheck cant fully prepare for unless he game plans to take him out and let someone else beat them.
