Maybe I'm getting old, but the trailer was so dark in the theater today I couldn't see shit. Looks much better on YouTube. Still not sold on Afflek. Actually looking forward more toward WW than either Batman/Superman in this.

What? Ben sounds almost identical to Bat. animated series in one of those theaters.. i think he's gonna pull off the bat

PAChiefsGuy 02-13-2016 12:12 AM

So who do you guys think wins? Superman or Batman?

I'm going with Superman.. I mean come on, he's too strong, too fast.. I see no way Batman can beat him speaking logically...

ThaVirus 02-13-2016 12:31 AM

They'll get down for a bit, each one will get some good licks on the other. Then they'll join forces to fight the real threat.

Sure-Oz 02-13-2016 12:43 AM

Real B v S

Superman hits Batman with his heat vision.

Fight's over in less than a second.

Pretty much and SuperMan can fly.. How the hell would Batman be able to hurt him if he is in the air as high as an airplane?

Sorry but the movie-idea is stupid.

Just saw the trailer again. In a different theater. WTF is the trend with making everything so dark you can't see anything?! Will definitely not be seeing this in the theater. Will wait until I can control the screen brightness, if I see it at all. Still not interested yet. :(

Rasputin 02-13-2016 07:33 PM

"Dawn of Justice"

I just bet that they both have too set aside their differences cuz they have to join forces to beat the Super Villains so they create "The Justice League"

Two things that will piss me off. Batman beating Superman and if Lex Luthor isn't bald.

Rasputin 02-13-2016 08:06 PM

So basically from the trailer I get that Bruce Wayne ask Alfred to make him a Superman Buster suit much like Tony Stark built a Hulk Buster suit in Age of Ultron. Then in the trailer looks like Supes is weaker than the suit Bats is wearing so that's what gives Batman the power to beat Superman. Still dumb if Batman can beat Superman.

Not dumb if Kryptonite is involved

Or other kryptonian materials, alloys or tech left lying around after the destruction of the world engine. Which Bruce would be all over as much as Lex is.

Trailer looked great to me before deadpool. DC needs to have a color palate that's different than what Marvel does, although I suspect Marvel's going to have some dark tones in certain parts of phase three (civil war...).

unlurking 02-13-2016 09:21 PM

It's not dark tones, and darkness is not a color palette. It's just too damned dark to actually see. I've seen shitty B rated action movies do this during fight scenes, I assume to hide the cheap FX, choreography, and skill of the actors. MoS and now BvS seem to do it through the whole movie.

DD and JJ were dark (both in tone and brightness), but you could still see what was happening. You could see the details in the background, not just shadow.

It's just annoying not be able to clearly see the whole screen. It's like some parts are in HD while others are in SD.

The film’s theatrical release carries a standard PG-13 rating. But in its latest bulletin, the MPAA (America’s de facto censor board) revealed that a home ent version of Zack Snyder’s superhero battle movie – entitled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition – has been rated R.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Before you think this involves Clark Kent exposing his man of steel, it’s been given the rating for “sequences of violence”. This makes sense, given what we’ve heard from Snyder and his team. The director told us he is a “fanatic” admirer of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns comic series, which took Bats into an extremely dark and brooding place.

The alternate edition may also in part be down to Deadpool’s record-breaking success at the box-office, which has left many studio executives stroking their chins and pondering a new strategy. The received wisdom for tentpole blockbusters had been to aim for a PG-13 rating, which would ensure the widest possible audience.

An R-rating – which requires under-17s to be accompanied by an adult – has long been seen as financially prohibitive. But the emphatically R-rated Deadpool has surprised everyone by earning half a billion dollars worldwide in less than two weeks, and subsequently thrown the superhero rulebook out of the super-window.

What the “Ultimate Edition” of DC’s big blockbuster bust-up will look like remains to be seen. But given the theatrical version has a running time of 2 hours, 31 minutes, the R-rated edition could be broaching the three-hour mark.

So a directors cut basically ...I really hope this movie does well
