He has had some flashes - both of the TD throws were outstanding plays by him - but I would agree that he has mostly been "serviceable."

Funny how just "Serviceable" can open up the running game, though, no?

I also thought the throw to Reese (where he was running to the West sideline and Lock dropped sidearm to fit it in while throwing it perfectly in stride) was fantastic. Believe that either went for a first down or set up an easier/shorter third down.

He's also had a pick 6 dropped and hasn't had to make alot of risky throws due to puke worthy defense of sc.

Being that it's his 1st start etc, and overwhelming they kid isn't a good idea isn't smart, he's been fine.

Yeah. I think it's not dissimilar to Alex Smith vs. Chase Daniel.

Neither Daniel nor Lock is going to play at a star level this year, but they both can be more serviceable in the passing game and make easy throws that open up the rest of the offense and force defenses to be more honest.

Mauk and Alex Smith are both just incredibly limiting QBs.

Who wins more game against their divisions this year: Mizzou or KC?

Mizzou will win more than two division games, so Mizzou.

This... He's really had some great coaches, and they really helped him understand the game and the situation. He's a win for Missouri...

Walter Brady is doing work. Heck, all of the really young guys are playing well.

It really is unbelievable how Craig Kuligiowski and Pat Ivey just keep turning out stud DL after stud DL.

Not encouraged by Pinkel's response to the Mauk/Lock postgame question..

That's pretty much as good as a QB could play with a training wheels game plan like that and no real playmakers on offense.

He made two mental mistakes, and one was a big one, but overall he displayed excellent accuracy and better pocket poise than any Pinkel QB has ever shown.

He's not going to answer that question forthrightly. "Well, Drew is going to start and Maty isn't going to play anymore because 1) he sucks and 2) he's a complete cokehead."

Seriously? It's the first time all year our offense has looked decent at all.

What was his response?

He said he wasn't going to address it. Which, IMO, given what is going on, is exactly what he should say.
