In reality, they never showed up. They may or may not have been prevented from getting there by some truckers. (That seems to be a common story, but I haven't seen anything about that on any actual news site.) All we really know for sure is that they didn't show, and a lone guy who had no affiliation with WBC got chased away by the crowd. |

I heard nothing after I was told about the trucker story and still don't know how accurate it was, but it came from legitimate sources and that's why I shared it. It was very orderly on campus after Obama left as well. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I was glad to see the focus where it needed to be.

I was in Joplin today. You can watch videos of it and look at pics, but when you see first hand the damage it is beyond words.
Cars crushed like beer cans, semi trucks ripped to shreads, buildings and houses on top of other houses. Mountains of debris, giant piles of metal twisted and wrapped around poles. The death toll will be over 500 when they are done. |

My girlfriend is the manager of an ambulance district and many of their emts went to help but were turned away. They stated it was a huge warehouse with bodies. Seeing the destruction I am suprised over a 1000 were not killed. It looks like it was carpet bombed for a week. |

I don't know how many stories I've heard of people riding it out in bath tubs or by clutching toilets or water heaters. Then you look at their house and those were the only remaining structures. |
