This thread is beginning to annoy me

If you do cave to Jones which you better pray Veach doesn't, then your run is officially over. You will continue to be a playoff team because of Mahomes but you will not go deep as your roster will not be nearly good enough. If the NFL did not gift you the number one seed last year, you would have lost prior to the SB.

The only gift given by the NFL last year was to the Bills, who should've been forced to either continue the "Hamlin game" that night or forfeit.

I agree. The NFL has never not played a game then gifted the team who lost to both the Bills and Bengals the #1 seed. The team screwed the most obviously was Cincy. Bills should have forfeited but the Woke crowd would have been out with torches and pitch forks ...

I hate to bring this up but.....if they decide Jones isn't gonna be here next year and they could get some picks for him....Brian Burns is currently holding out too.

You do realize if the Bills had forfeited that game to the Bengals the Chiefs would've been the #1 seed, right?

Oh, you didn't realize that. Count me as not surprised.

If you look at the client list of his agents you will not see a bunch of big names outside Jones. They know he is nearing the end so they have to play hardball to grow their clientele. Jones is ultimately paying for it right now, but he has no one to blame but himself for going along with this.

Did either team consult the Chiefs before deciding not to play that game? Nope they made their decision and suffered the consequences. Just like Jones, actions have consequences.

Intriguing, but he's probably looking for even more than Jones.

Didn't even realize he was holding out, seems like there might be a concerted effort going on between some of these agents to drive up the market price on d-line/edge rushers.

They played an expensive game of “chicken” and lost. That firm is a dead man walking.

Well, they're the 2nd most important player in football now with the rules being what they are so yeah, they're costly.

I don't think he's in that 30 plus million dollar territory, but he'll probably want more than TJ Watt.

Reread the posts I have made.

It is dumb say that Jones agent is a dope because of his client list, when Nick Bosa is doing the same tactics and his agent reps Joe Burrow aand Justin Jefferson and a lot of star players.

It is weird that chiefsplanet is in favor of the Bosa brothers and Watt brothers always getting their asks met, even though they miss games because of injuries and their lack of successful team seasons.

Jones has helped Chiefs win 2 Lombardis.

Chiefs seem to be offering what I say they should offer so that the players in the locker room can see that it is a decent offer.

If Chiefs only offered what the chiefsplanet consensus said, a few dollars more than Quinnen Williams, that would not look good to the players, especially if Nick Bosa matches or passes Aaron Donald as highest paid defensive player.

Jones should play out his current deal and get an insurance policy. Missing games and gamechecks is unwise, and if he is not satisfied with the extension offer, show up and play your best and be a free agent next year or get franchise tag of $32.5 million and expect a trade to a team willing to do a long term deal.

dirk digler 09-05-2023 07:55 AM

Doesn't sound hopeful Bosa is going to sign either.

O.city 09-05-2023 07:57 AM

I do think CP has underrated Jones in an effort to minimize this whole deal.

Dude's an elite player.

But this is the way shit goes sometimes.

It’s going to start to impact the quality of entertainment, the league is going to be forced to put and end to hold outs.

That one I don't really get.

What are the 9ers gonna do, not sign the guy?

Yeah, the number is high. He's on a HOF all time edge start to his career. It is what it is.
