Hayes and West reunite towards the end in their elderly years. Hayes wants to remember but West is reluctant... mentioning something they both did...like something he'd rather not revisit.

There's also an interesting scene from the 90's version of Hayes/West where they received a call on the hotline...and played it back for the father. The girl says she wants the man on TV to leave her alone...(they held a press conference with the father pleading for the daughter to contact him)...she mentions her brother Will and that he was taken.

"The Man on TV" clearly isn't directed her dad whom she knows. Im thinking the man shes referring to is Hayes. Too much is pointing to him. I think he has somehow suppressed everything...even as they investigated it during the 80s....but West somehow knew all along.

Only thing not adding up is the false eye but could be revealed later. His comment at dinner with Amelia about how predators see children was awkward. But we'll see I guess.

If it were him, he must have a burner car or something that he was driving out there where they were playing. Just seems shaky. I wouldn't be surprised if Amelia had something to do with it, but I dont' think she was the actual killer

Also a member of the church which ties into your theory of a church-orchestrated pedophile ring. She seemed awfully interested in the case and just seems like an obscure character to thrust into the front of story at this point. I like your angle better than my Hayes theory

Plus apparently here and Roland never got married. Wonder if he found out something or she was just with him to find out what the investigation was doing.
