What the **** is our goddamn ****ing hurry to trade him to the Rams if the compensation isn't good enough?

This is the THIRD ****ing time Dorsey/Veach haven't been able to ****ing contain themselves to wait until the league year begins before they trade a player. How often does that happen? I can't even recall it ever happening before he did it with Smith in 2013. Then the Smith trade AGAIN in 2018. I mean, that one was ****ing great, and I can understand why Veach made the offer he had, but Christ. To not even get a 1st rounder for ****ing Marcus ****ing Peters when the league year hasn't even begun? If the compensation isn't what you want, then JUST ****ING WAIT. Jesus ****ing Christ.

Oh, and guess what? The NFL doesn't like this nebulous "unofficial" trading. There's no rule against it, but it's the ****ing NFL, guys. Those assholes will interpret this secret meeting bullshit the Chiefs constantly partake in as going against rules for fair negotiations since other teams are waiting until March every year to get their shit done. You can damn well bet they're going to re-write the rule AND find a way to **** the Chiefs over and punish them for thinking they can constantly work around the NFL's rules on offseason trades.

That's all that's missing. We lose Peters. ****ing shitty as ****. We get ****ed on compensation. Double ****ing shitty as ****. It can't get any worse, right?

Nope. The NFL swoops in. Watch it happen. That's the only missing piece left.

I'm ****ing furious.

Just because an idiot said it doesn't mean it can't also happen to be true.

I mean Peters clearly disliked how Sutton ran the defense. Who can blame him. You really don't think keeping Sutton was part of this?

It might be one of the reasons Peters asked for a trade (definitely not the main reason). Also, Peters reportedly asked for a trade after the Titans game, so Nick’s claim that he asked for a trade because they retained Sutton doesn’t make sense.

It had absolutely nothing to do with why the Chiefs wanted him gone though.

I think the front office knew the writing was on the wall and they could get something for him now. His attitude sucked through much of the season. I will miss his talent, but character still means something to me; means something to the Chiefs office. Man, sometimes He is impressive though... gonna miss that.

Dude he heard it from his mama

Pretty sure Peters doesn't give one single **** about what the fans think.

Nah. The Chiefs received a 3rd from the Redskins and will receive additional picks for Peters.

Also, let’s keep in mind that the Chiefs merely need a good cornerback to replace Peters. A player that’s consistent and smart. While it would be nice, they don’t need an All Pro to replace him.

The Chiefs were 30th in defense with Peters and at this point, I fully trust Veach to find another good corner, along with other defensive upgrades.

It's along time before opening day, this team is going to make a lot of moves before then.

Out of everything posted in this thread, this statement is a 100% certainty

Dane has been on-point through this whole thing, it's like exactly my position - only w/ football knowledge incld'd.

If you believe Keitzman he said he has a source high up in Chiefs front office. He told him that about every coach including Head coach sat down with Marcus to find out what was eating at him he wouldnt talk to them. Then the owner sat down with him trying to see what the organization could do for him here. He got nothing from the kid. If thats true and who knows but if so **** MP's.

I listened to Stan Weber, and he disagrees with you on the defense got worse. He grades the defense on a 1-10 basis on each play, and said Peters has way too many plays where he grades out on a 1-3 score. Way more plays there than the occasional turnover he creates offsets those plays.

He also said he doesn't think the Chiefs are done getting rid of defenders that were the leaders of this team.

Peters is an enormous cancer that even Andy Reid got sick of. 1 team truly wanted him.

The market showed what the league thought of this guy and t wasn’t ****ing good
