You take a OL or a WR. Don’t make any trades. You need as many draft picks as you can. How many comp picks do we get?

htismaqe 02-17-2021 12:00 PM

Here's your list of top half LB's (excluding edge guys) picked since 2013.

Isaiah Simmons
Devin White
Devin Bush
Rashan Gary
Roquan Smith
Tremaine Edmunds
Hassan Reddick
Anthony Barr
Ryan Shazier

And here's your list of guys picked after pick 15 in the first round.

Kenneth Murray
Patrick Queen
Rashaan Evans
Jaraad Davis
Reuben Foster
Stephone Anthony
CJ Mosley (17th overall)
Marcus Smith
Alec Ogletree

My point proven, once again.

Where I disagree is that LB isn’t a valued position because we only use 2 linebackers the majority of the time.

Like...haven’t you guys seen that glaring weakness against teams with balanced attacks? Spags saw Neimann as our best option in those sets.

Think about that for a moment.

Spags saw a complete liability as our best option for a set we use frequently and some of you don’t see that upgrade as a need worthy of the 31st or even our pick in the second.

I never said it wasn't a valued position. All positions have value. But some positions have MORE value than others, especially at the end of the 1st round.

LB is near the bottom of the list due to that circumstance alone.

I don’t think Spags saw him as the best option. He saw him as the ONLY option.

Supposedly Nate Taylor said the Chiefs “are expected to pursue and upgrade at the DE spot opposite Clark, potentially a veteran option”.

Watt, Lawson, Okwara, etc.

They’re likely going to sign somebody.

Some people are suggesting Justin Houston to make his return

Which opens things up at OL and WR in the draft.

Well it would take some humility on his part to come back and IMO, his lack of humility (regarding his contract status) is what led to his departure.

So I'd take him back.

Did you read his entire article?

He lays out his predictions for all of our FAs. I can post it here or start a new thread.

Just isn’t going to happen, like it or not.

They wanted an overhaul of defensive leadership and releasing him was part of that deal. Idk, maybe they’d call, but I doubt it.

VAGOMO 4 LIFE! 02-17-2021 12:08 PM

What about Von Miller of Donks cut him

Exactly why we need a major upgrade there.

Uhh, I just see a mixed bag of meh in both lists, and Gary is definitely an edge guy.

Yep and I’d put Berry in that same category if his comeback is successful. They gutted that defense for more than just performance reasons.
