Glad to hear. :thumb:

If they are not going to fire Mo, they should know they need better quality batters. Winn and Waller may be a couple in a year or two. But listen to what Nolan told you, you need to spend some money on getting better bats and pitching. Surprise us Dewitt, loosen the wallet.

At least that is good news. The remaining contract is a bargain after the Rockies pay their part.

I’m sure his agent told him you’d make millions more opting out. He really does like playing here. It’s a great place to play games. 3 million fans every year.

I’m sure Mo told him something. Nolan ain’t a young rookie. I’m sure he can smell BS as well as any 30 year old. He must have got some kind of non BS answer from Mo.

I have never seen a pitcher with a more blatant tell than McCullers had on his fastball last night. He was coming much higher up with his knee and hands on his off-speed pitches than he was on the fastball. I mean he wasn't even bringing his leg past 90 degrees on the fastball - it was coming up to his elbow on off-speed. As a batter, that gap between his elbow and his knee is right where you're looking anyway - it's a GIANT neon sign.

It's literally the most blatant pitch tipping possible.

But Dusty Baker, the dumbest manager I have ever seen - left him out there to die. And somehow nobody was like "uh, hey - maybe stop doing that because my grandmother can spot it and she's legally blind..."

Hey Houston - it's quite a bit easier to hit when they know if a fastball is coming. I'm not sure if you're aware of that or not...

I don't hate Houston - but man do I despise Dusty Baker. The Astros gacking this thing would be on par with the Tigers losing to that 2006 Cardinals team. It would be completely inexcusable. They are better than Philly in every possible way.

Carlos Correa makes too much sense for this team it won't happen right?

Maybe if you trade Masyn Winn in a deal for Murphy. I wouldn't be expecting to dump a 7+ year contract on a SS after they were reluctant to trade prospects for Soto.

I wonder of Ollie felt just a little threatened having Skip in the clubhouse. By all accounts I've heard the players really liked Skip and he was a good coach. I don't know why they'd let him walk otherwise.

They didn't sign Harper because they "liked some outfielder I can't remember".

Regardless of what happened with Harper, I dont see where it makes sense to drop a large contract on a SS if the Cardinals truly believe in Winn as the future. If all goes well he could be looking at a 2024 call up. Tommy Edman just turned into the best version of Kolten Wong and can hold down SS for a year.

Going after a catcher or Aaron Judge make much more sense to me from a Cardinals perspective, again assuming Winn is still involved in the team.

He took a promotion to be a manager of an MLB team. I don't think there was anything they could do to stop him from walking short of firing Ollie & giving Skip his job. However from what I've heard Skip was telling media people he had no interest in even looking for a managers position with another club. So there may be something to why he took the interview in the first place.
