Shocks me how many teams still fall for those guys.

So it’s a Win-Win-Win.

They could also flip Stafford to a win now team in need of a QB like say...the Redskins cause they're desperate to just be ok.

Though I am curious - are we seeing the return of the middle-class quarterback?

Seems like more and more teams are willing to move on from solid but unspectacular veteran quarterbacks and in so doing, they're creating a surplus in the market that's driving some prices down.

Granted, it's still the QB position so they're still being well compensated, but it seems that there's a lot broader spread in QB salaries than there has been in years past. It isn't just 'QBs on rookie deals and veterans jockeying to be the new highest paid player in league history...and shit'

There appears to be genuinely quality QBs who are accepting deals in their own tiers now and I don't recall seeing that much in the recent past.

So would any draft eligible WR or NFL WR.

:p

But I would HATE that pick. I've decided I wouldn't even take Dobbins in the 2nd. I just...I'm just not a fan. There's just very little 'there' there. I watch him and just can't decide what he actually does well.

I wouldn't be surprised if there ends up 5 or 6 backs in this draft that have better careers then him.

I don't really care if we take Dobbins or not. But totally disagree that there's nothing there. I don't think the question is what can he do. It's what he can't. He may not have elite speed or power but the guy just does everything well. Physically and mentally. I've seen lots of games with him. This kid is really special. The guy just finds ways to get yards. You know who he really reminds me of? Leveon Bell. Especially the way he runs the ball out of the shotgun. I could easily see him shining in a Kareem Hunt role. And much as I love what Damien did I don't trust him to be a full year bellcow and I don't know how easy it would be to keep him after this season. I wouldn't really hate the pick.

Checked out Winfield for the first time just a minute ago. I prefer Delpit. Delpit looks more suited to cover TE's and his length gives him an edge. I've read mixed reports on his tackling. But I will say return skills always jumps out in a secondary player.

Dobbins is the best outside zone runner in this draft.

Guess what Reid likes?

Outside of Burrow, who's essentially a One Year Wonder, there just isn't much in this draft class to get excited about.

If Tua didn't have the hip injury, maybe he & Burrow go 1-2. But that hip is big question mark, regardless of the videos he's posted and it just doesn't seem like teams are willing to take a huge risk on him when most of the Top 5 teams have needs elsewhere that could be addressed.

Beyond those two, I just don't like any of them. I wouldn't trust Herbert in the Top 10 because I think he's going to suck. I wouldn't waste a first rounder on Love or Eason, and probably wouldn't waste a 2nd rounder, either. I don't believe that either are NFL ready nor as accomplished as the 2011 second rounders in Kaepernick and Dalton.

If I was running the Dolphins, Lions, Redskins and Chargers, I'd be a lot more comfortable adding players that could make an immediate contribution this season, then trade up for Fields or Lawrence in 2021 because it would be an absolute shock if those same teams weren't picking in the Top Ten again next year, if not the Top 5.

BryanBusby 04-22-2020 06:37 PM

I don't think the hip will be an issue for awhile, but I think the mile long injury history is. Dude can't catch a break.

Disagree. Jordan Love is a better prospect than Josh Allen and Josh Rosen in 2018..they went 7 and 10.

Hell, no one talks about James Morgan..he is better than Haskins who went 1st round last year.

Lawrence is talented but let's see 2020. He isn't automatically better than Burrow.

I still remember people lecturing me on how 2017 was garbage and 2018 was incredible. ESPN usually wrong on QB classes.

Stryker 04-22-2020 07:05 PM

I would hope a LB or the C Ruiz but my gut says if Dobbins is there, they take Dobbins.
