That second trailer pretty much swayed me to wait for a Netflix release on this one.

Batman, Superman, Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman, Alfred, Lois, Martha, Doomsday, Flash, Aquaman, Perry White.

The Spiderman 3 formula for this movie dissuaded me from the beginning. You want a compelling movie? Then make it a singular focus on how a tormented Batman conspires to take down a God.

Too bad all Snyder seems to know how to do anymore is heavy handed exposition, explosions, and hour long fight scenes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - DC panicked at the success Marvel has had with their films, now they're not only playing catch up, but trying to force feed us all of our favorite characters in an effort to be on equal footing with Marvel cinematically. I don't think it's going to work for them.

I have my tickets for Saturday because my daughter really wanted to see this. We'll see how this holds up. Hopefully I'm not disappointed after I leave.

Audience on RT so far are giving it 86% on 118k ratings

Man of Steel was 56% on RT but Audience have it a 76% at that time. Which is about how I felt

8.8 on IMDb...but before the embargo was a 9.7 so I think it will go down some more but I'd hope for higher than a 6

Fish 03-23-2016 11:45 AM

Critics Consensus: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice smothers a potentially powerful story -- and some of America's most iconic superheroes -- in a grim whirlwind of effects-driven action.

About what I expected...

It was at 112,000 "want to see" last night. Did 118k really see it and post on RT in the last 12 hours, or did they reuse the previous numbers? Kind of like IMDB having over 10,000 9.X ratings days ago?

At this point, I don't trust any of these numbers.

Hope your daughter is old enough. Seen some people say there are scenes that make their kids cringe and gasp. Apparently this really is a dark/violent take.

Good enough for me to go see when the snow clears.

She's a college kid. Already. :(

At least she still wants to go see movies with me, lol

It's a Zach Snyder film. Eye porn was a given. Sucks to hear about the plot getting buried, though.

Maybe it will be more clear after next week but I'm seeing it Sunday so I won't care lol. Popcorn blockbuster flick I'm good if it's that at worst

DaneMcCloud 03-23-2016 12:11 PM

RT at 48% and MetaCritic at 5.3.

Considering all of the trouble with this film that's been leaked in the past year, those early numbers shouldn't be surprising.

The "bad" part (and not unexpected IMO) is that the actors and visuals are top notch but the direction and story are convoluted, which perfectly sums up a Zachary Snyder movie in my experience.

I have a feeling I'll be waiting for on demand or a premium channel viewing, which is too bad.

Wildcat2005 03-23-2016 12:19 PM

It is getting poor reviews

Even comic book fanboys like Chris Stuckmann, Jeremy Jahns, and Schmoes Know are giving it mediocre grades

I am sure if you really like Batman or Superman you will enjoy some of it
But it sounds like if you are expecting anything other than a bloated CGI fireworks show you will be dissapointed

keg in kc 03-23-2016 12:30 PM

There was a really good teaser for it with new footage on Monday's Gotham that was I thought much better then their stupid Doomsday reveal trailer. Lemme see if I can find it.
