On the subject of John Goodman... someone mentioned earlier that he gives off an air of a "good ole boy" attitude or something like that.

I had a friend in college that told a story about meeting JG at a bar in StL. Said he was the most down to earth nice guy you could meet. Sat down, had some beers with him and his friends. Guy I knew tried to address him as "Mr. Goodman", he replied, "No, no... I'm just John." Just wanted to hang out and be one of the guys.

It's over 5,000 square foot, but just one old, crazy Japanese guy lives there. FWIW, most people don't have large yards in the hills, because we're on a hillside. In addition to that, gardeners are very cheap. I pay $50 a month to have my trees trimmed and my lawn mowed! I used to make more than that as a kid in junior high. Of course, the yard's only about 40'x20'.

A native of St. Louis, MO, Goodman went to Southwestern Missouri University on a football scholarship. An injury compelled his to seek out a less strenuous major, however. He chose the university's drama department and graduated as a drama major.

He is survived by his wife Annabeth and his daughter Molly.
