I had a friend in college that told a story about meeting JG at a bar in StL. Said he was the most down to earth nice guy you could meet. Sat down, had some beers with him and his friends. Guy I knew tried to address him as "Mr. Goodman", he replied, "No, no... I'm just John." Just wanted to hang out and be one of the guys.

Thats pretty cool. I always figured he would be a great guy to have some beers with. I always felt he is also very underated as an actor as well.

I haven't met him in the 19 months we've lived here, but I do hear his horrible guitar playing at 1:00am from time to time.

FWIW, most people don't have large yards in the hills, because we're on a hillside. In addition to that, gardeners are very cheap. I pay $50 a month to have my trees trimmed and my lawn mowed! I used to make more than that as a kid in junior high. Of course, the yard's only about 40'x20'.

Here's a pic of my house from the hillside above us

Recently seen in the Kevin Spacey epik Beyond the Sea, Goodman was deemed in fine health by his doctor just three days ago. Cause of death is not yet known, but it is suspected natural causes.

Goodman was most notably known as the blue-collar patriarch Dan Conner on the hit TV show Roseanne. Goodman also lent his vocal talents to such films as The Emperor's New Groove and Mosnters Inc, as well as being a semi-regular guest on Saturday Night Live.

With a talent as large as his girth, Goodman proved himself both a distinguished character actor and an engaging leading man. A native of St. Louis, MO, Goodman went to Southwestern Missouri University on a football scholarship. An injury compelled his to seek out a less strenuous major, however. He chose the university's drama department and graduated as a drama major.

He is survived by his wife Annabeth and his daughter Molly.

This is very sad news....he was great in the Big Lebowski.

Don't feel bad I posted in this thread in 2005 and I forgot about it.

Smed1065 02-02-2007 09:54 PM

LOL

This thread is improving by the minute.......

Smed1065 02-02-2007 09:58 PM

So just curious on about here.

Do you post before or after you read each thread?

Or post after reading a thread?

I use to post as I read a thread.

Since I started posting here, I read at least half a thread before I post and quote.

Just curious after tonight... :hmmm:
