What cracks me up about the Denver fanbase is all this talk about consistent dominance and constant relevance. The Broncos have missed the playoffs 18 times since 1990. 56% of the time. Even the period including your glory days hasn't been consistent. And if Denver hadn't lucked into Manning being available, the last two decades would have been very rough. On the rare occasion that they made the playoffs before Manning, they got obliterated.
If a fanbase is going to have Patriot-level arrogance and continue to drone on about the past after 6 years with no postseason...the past better be Patriot-like.
The Chiefs' streak with no playoff wins was sad and frustrating, but it's also a little misleading. They had 3 or 4 byes in that span.

Well, if that's your 'wall' - the past being Patriot-like, you've just eliminated any discussions.
Denver was certainly lucky that Manning became available, saving them from whatever Tebowmania was about to become. And, regarding the talk of consistent relevance and domination. There was a nice legacy that Bowlen built up and it's no longer like it once was unfortunately.
All I can say is that in my lifetime of following Denver, which would be about 1984... I've seen a lot of greatness and a lot of ugly. This past 6 year run is the first of its kind for me and many, which as TEX likes to point out, why so many of us dismissed it early on.
I had not experienced decades worth of suckitude and while 6 years is not the 20 or so that some of you here and fans of other teams have experienced, it's crazy.
I've been able to watch my team play in 7 SBs and win 3 of them. We had some ugly stretches, but nothing like this current run. And, I know that in time, it will pass - would love for that to be next year and not within the next 10 years, but whatever it is... it is.
If you're a KC fan, you've seen your team play in 2 SBs... well, maybe you're a lifer and over the age of 70 and can claim to have seen the early SB. I dunno. But, yeah I guess there's a level of arrogance that is created when you watch your team play in and win SBs seemingly every decade of your life.
Hopefully, the ownership deal gets fixed and they turn this thing around. I'll always be a fan of the team, but it will be fun to once again have a desire to watch them play.
