Oh and it was glorious. 1994 - 2014 with no playoff wins was a fun thing to hammer you guys with and we had a lot of fun with that. Hell, I remember at some point around 2008-2010 making a comment that Denver would win another SB before KC won a playoff game. And I'll be damned if both didn't happen in the same season, but KC technically won their playoff game a few weeks before Denver won the SB, so I wasn't exactly accurate.

I made comments like some of you have had kids that are old enough to vote now and have never seen KC win a playoff game. Good times, good times. Six years isn't quite the near 2 decades of frustration that KC endured.

I get it though.

Not too sure... You realize that Denver has only had 5 winning seasons in a decade and a half? And that KC never had 5 losing seasons in a row during that time span you mentioned. And I'm damn sure know that KC NEVER LOST TO DENVER 13 TIMES IN A ROW (6.5 YEARS) Which is a pretty lethal nuke to tilt any comparison.

Oh - that last one is ongoing...Yes GOOD TIMES INDEED!

Anyway, now he has a neighbor who fires a cannon in real-time [unknown if this neighbor is a young Tom Cruise] whenever the Chiefs score, then fires off a ton when they finally win. So he gets a 30-45min preview of game highlights.

I have a version of this when I'm forced to stream the game. Streams I find are usually a solid 2-3 minutes behind and sometimes I'll browse the GDTs, which gives me a nice couple minute preview into what to expect.

Lately I haven't been doing it as much because the GDTs are notoriously weird. It's annoying to refresh the page to a bunch of "JFC" and "soft ass defense" posts only to catch up and find we had allowed a 5 yard rush lol

What cracks me up about the Denver fanbase is all this talk about consistent dominance and constant relevance. The Broncos have missed the playoffs 18 times since 1990. 56% of the time. Even the period including your glory days hasn't been consistent. And if Denver hadn't lucked into Manning being available, the last two decades would have been very rough. On the rare occasion that they made the playoffs before Manning, they got obliterated.

If a fanbase is going to have Patriot-level arrogance and continue to drone on about the past after 6 years with no postseason...the past better be Patriot-like.

The Chiefs' streak with no playoff wins was sad and frustrating, but it's also a little misleading. They had 3 or 4 byes in that span.

Well, if that's your 'wall' - the past being Patriot-like, you've just eliminated any discussions.

Denver was certainly lucky that Manning became available, saving them from whatever Tebowmania was about to become. And, regarding the talk of consistent relevance and domination. There was a nice legacy that Bowlen built up and it's no longer like it once was unfortunately.

All I can say is that in my lifetime of following Denver, which would be about 1984... I've seen a lot of greatness and a lot of ugly. This past 6 year run is the first of its kind for me and many, which as TEX likes to point out, why so many of us dismissed it early on.

I had not experienced decades worth of suckitude and while 6 years is not the 20 or so that some of you here and fans of other teams have experienced, it's crazy.

I've been able to watch my team play in 7 SBs and win 3 of them. We had some ugly stretches, but nothing like this current run. And, I know that in time, it will pass - would love for that to be next year and not within the next 10 years, but whatever it is... it is.

If you're a KC fan, you've seen your team play in 2 SBs... well, maybe you're a lifer and over the age of 70 and can claim to have seen the early SB. I dunno. But, yeah I guess there's a level of arrogance that is created when you watch your team play in and win SBs seemingly every decade of your life.

Hopefully, the ownership deal gets fixed and they turn this thing around. I'll always be a fan of the team, but it will be fun to once again have a desire to watch them play.

My stream is usually 1-2 plays behind, too. I follow GameCast on ESPN and sometimes I can see the result of the next play or two before it's broadcast. I was doing this in SB LIV before Wasp and my sister-in-law figured out what I was doing and took my iPad away. Made the game more stressful.

Winning 6 games/year doesn't equate to a stretch that included a lot of winning seasons and playoff appearances.

Your fans talk about the Chiefs as if they're the Lions. KC is 8th or 9th in all-time win%. Higher than Denver. They have a huge lead head to head and have won 13 straight. They're also arguably the best franchise in the NFL at the moment, and Mahomes is just getting started.

We all get that Denver was the better franchise for a few decades. But there's been a dramatic shift. And after six years of going in the opposite direction, it's a little strange to keep hearing the "little brother" comments. I can assure you that no Chiefs fan wants to trade what we have now to be able to say that we've won one more SB than our rival. Even if you go back two decades, it's really hard to argue that KC hasn't accomplished more in that span.

Denver had better turn it around soon or they'll likely have precious little ammo left in a few years.

mmmhhhh(clearing throat) as I then whisper to myself, "does the above poster know Mahomes is only in his 5th year and just turned 26?"
