I just looked and I have thirteen MySpace scripts on my version of Greasemonkey. And I still get annoyed with it sometimes.

baby steps, i guess...

I think considering Simplex3 went to all the trouble to create this great new feature (Gaz would probably still be here had this been a available two years ago) that he should get some gloat time.

You probably had the old version installed.

Why is it that the dumbest people are the ones offended by this script?

In the next version I believe I'm going to do something like AdBlock, where you can subscribe to block lists. We'll have the Liberal blocklist, the Conservative blocklist, the Moron blocklist...

Washington D.C. forum users be advise CPIggy works just great in that forum as well.:thumb:

Sweet. You should do a poll in DC to flesh out the lists.

This statement is ironic other than I don't think you're dumb.

Don't get me wrong, if this feature prevents dogpiling and all the high schoolish popular/loser mantras, then I say bravo....the real test will be to see if people can actually not talk about those they choose to eliminate through what appears to be censorship.

I've only had one person on my ignore list ever. Tom Cash , unfortunately even with CPIggy, I'd have to redo it every time he gets banned and returns with a new username.

Actually Simplex, thinking about this feature, I wonder if the trolls who will be ignored won't just change usernames so they can do their attention-whoring again. I think this might work for a while, but maybe it would flood us with usernames too. I don't know if that's a problem for the programming, but if people started doing that, then it might make using the site more confusing. But maybe that wouldn't happen.

As far as the liberal/conservative list, I hope that doesn't detract from the traffic over there. I guess I think ignoring the views of people on the other side of the political spectrum from you is a big problem with the state of our country right now in general.

I don't think it's a written policy, but I'm pretty sure that I've heard at least some of the mods mention that deceptive multiple accounts is grounds for banning. I don't think it would last long.

They say that, but I'm not sure how well they'd enforce it. (e.g., see - ahem, shut your mouth - 's multiple posts in DC now after he has been banned several times for proof of discretionary enforcement).

Also I'm not really talking about cases where someone would be posting with 2 accounts simultaneously, but rather that they abandon the old account for the new one. I don't know if that violates the policy or not.

I was actually joking about subscribe lists. I think that's a horrible idea. I really did just want this so that people could eliminate the few posters that they feel just make it miserable to be here.

:)

I hope you're not grouping me in with the people offended by the script. I think it is a great idea...I say some stupid shit and I encourage anyone that is offended by my antics to simply ignore me.

don't worry, Simplex has let me know about 15-20 times in the last week that he 'doesn't have to worry' because he 'has me ignored'...

banyon 10-10-2007 08:04 PM

Ha, I see Tom Cash has posted some more garbage here.

Please no one quote him, as I haven't converted to Firefox and CPIggy yet. :)
