Hmm. HMM.

Well, after deeply studying the Lions for quite some time, it seems their biggest needs are at corner (having traded Bly and released Bryant) and at offensive line (having given up 1 fewer sack than we did).

There seems to be some definite value here that would help, but... WTF. These are the Lions!

With the 15th pick, the Detroit Lions select WR Mario Manningh... just kidding.

OT Ryan Clady, Boise St.

Direckshun 03-06-2008 03:30 PM

Oh who cares what I think. I'm just bored so I'm picking on you.

I disagree with most of the people on this BB anyway, I think Clady is a Top 10er. I don't think he's a solid pick for the Chiefs but I do think any team after #10 is getting a deal on him.

Edit: Good pick, BigRock.

Sfeihc 03-06-2008 03:31 PM

This is a great move if Clady can take the LT position by the horns and they can move Backus to RT. I've always felt that Backus was overmatched at LT and would do just fine at RT. This is the same fear i have for Jake Long, call it the Backus Upus Effect.
Good pick that will go bad just because it's the LIONS.
Same team that traded for LB Pat Swilling giving up the #10 overall pick in the draft used by the Saints to select Willie Roaf.
As much as we bitch as moan about the chiefs thankfully they're not the LIONS.

LMAO

Cards are looking, I would imagine, at CB or RB.

I still like Antoine Cason but either one of those monster RBs left over would be too much to pass on.

OnTheWarpath15 03-06-2008 03:35 PM

Archie Bunker and the Cards are on the clock.

15 picks in 3 days, with a 24 hours dead period.

I'm impressed, guys.

Thanks for staying on top of this.

If we finish really early, I propose (if people are interested) we either:

a) Run through again and see what changes.

or

b) Keep going into the later rounds, see how far we can get.

I love (b.). Might be much for many of the guys, but who knows.

As we get closer, I'll put it up for vote and see who's interested.

Even if only a handful of guys were interested, I'd just divvy up the rest and we could run with it.

If it were me, I'd have to go with Mendenhall or Jonathan Stewart here.

JMO.

Damn I wish we could trade. The Jags would be trading ahead of the Vikings right now.

Direckshun 03-06-2008 03:58 PM

Who on earth would you be trading for?

There aren't any players of incredible value at positions of extreme need for the Jags at this point.

Your OL is solid, you're set in your secondary, and you've got the best 1-2 RB punch in the NFL.

Their DEs are old and fading.

I just don't see anybody on the board that's worth trading up for.

The space between Phillip Merling, Derrick Harvey, Quentin Groves, and Calais Campbell is unremarkable to me.

Do you know something I don't?
