Metallica is boring.

Downloaded and Deleted 7 times now. Woo hoo.

And you know, I really like this album... sounds great. Vocals kind of 'meh' but musically it is great.

Compared to Dark Angel's "Darkness Descends," yeah Metallica's thrash is light on the riff quotient.

Is it safe to assume that one could replace "Metallica" in your post with "Metal" and still retain the same meaning for you?

Others probably paid money to be the "first". God forbid Lars doesn't squeeze every penny possible out of the release.

Quite possibly

It maybe because they are old now. I can't think of a band right now that is like their age that just comes out and hits you in the mouth. I swear to your now....Three's days grace can bring it.

Demonpenz 09-04-2008 12:28 PM

Although it is getting chilli out. and I think ben folds is coming again. I love me some sweater rock!

KCUnited 09-04-2008 12:30 PM

Can anyone say how this stacks up with the newest Testament? Remotely close?

Demonpenz 09-04-2008 12:32 PM

Sometimes the thought of metal just invokes images of a guy doing dishes at perkins. It doesn't really invoke images of thought. It is more of an attitude. I would have to say it is more about fun for me. I want to be able to thrash out and drink beer, but with atmosphere, karate, Republic tigers (sweet show), I would be more likely to throw on some large headphones and listen closely. We pretty much know what metallica has to say already We rule, we are legends, we are rich, we can do what we want."

I think Death Magnetic is way better.

There is plenty of metal out there that does. But, as is the norm with the genre, the stuff ain't mainstream at all.

I hear you on that. one thing that would help is if I could understand them what those crazy metal bands are saying.

You're high. For what this album wants to be -- commercially viable, playable on both hard rock and heavy metal radio formats, accessible while at the same time hearkening back to the thrash spirit of the band's early days -- it's a smashing success. Death Magnetic riffs, it grooves, it has melody, it has aggression.

It's not a perfect album, but it's about as good as we can expect from the band given their age and musical progression.

Their are two legs. Down on the first leg and Lamb of God on the second. The Sword will be on both legs. It's going to be a great ****ing tour. I like the new Metallica and the others are among my favorite bands. I know everyone who likes metal knows who Lamb of God is but if you don't know Down and the Sword check them out now. Great ****ing metal!

Disturbed is overrated imo but that is me.
