What kind of supportive powers could some one get for $100?

I think the ban option for supporters is acceptable only in severe cases. When supporters banned Frankie and Chiefdawn last week for misleading threads, I call that abuse of powers. That is something that a mod can take care of at his discretion/convenience. If someone is spamming porn, then by all means, take care of it by any means possible asap.

Supporters had nothing to do with those bans, FYI.

No one has abused it yet AND no one that I feel would abuse it would be added to the group regardless...

It is supposed to be a fun perk... I have yet to see anyone use it to create a special "clique" or lord it over anyone...

A final word on it, if someone abused it and it was obviously intentional... they would be the one getting banned.

You've obviously got the right to run your board however you want to, but SHTSPRAYER was banned because of who he is, not because of what he posted in that particular thread. I'm confident that a different poster could have posted those same things without drawing the ire of the Sheriff of Refrigeration and his Barney Fife. Both of them have had run-ins with SHTSPRAYER before and IMO, Frazod in particular, welcomed an excuse to use his wonder powers on him.

SHTSPRAYER was banned because he was posting some pretty overtly racist stuff.

He deserved worse than what he got.

Taco John 01-28-2009 04:31 PM

"White Liberals - Obama is a racist! Why did you vote for this magic negro! black pimp! Zippa dee doo dah!"

He was definitely inciting racial animus. He could have made a very good point without being so overtly racist.

Yeah I just read through that thread...Hes a racist bigot and such...

It feels.......AWESOME

fwiw, as a long time member and someone who remembers why this BB was created, I think the powers given them is a great idea.

This place was created to get away from overbearing Mods, and in 9 years I have only seen one time a mod really went to far.

Way to many times in the past, shit would happen here on the BB and it would sometimes take hours to be taken care of.

IF you think that you have been abused in some way, then by all means take it up with Austinchief. In all the years I've known him (online) I have never seen him abuse his power, and is always been fair. Frankly there are times I wish he would be more of a dick to some people.:D

Just my .02 worth

Getting a red card totally pissed me off. My Jack Harry fired thread was obviously a parody of the bullshit posted that day. I get a red card and "Jizz on my face" is cool? I call bullshit.

Eventually you might want to just settle on a single version of this whiny tale of woe you've vomited up for the.... what - 20th time now? That way you could just cut and paste and save yourself the trouble of rewriting it. Give it a rest. Nobody had a problem with it except you and your fellow Taliban. And our resident ACLU guy, who probably gets weepy every time the latest version of Marlboro Chief gets whacked.

Lol...Who gave you the Red Card?

To be fair, you did see that similar posts got people temporarily banned....if you missed those ones, c'est la vie.

Also I believe it wasn't a Jizz on my face thread, it was Luv wondering why guys thought that was hot.

Not that I'm defending the situation, but you should have known the risk factors going into making that thread.
