If Chase has his dad's drive, the dude is going to be good. Maybe not a HOF'er, but good none the less.

Who gives a flying **** what Shitlock wants?!

Mr. Krab 04-22-2009 09:35 AM

If Coffman falls to us in the 3rd round i would take him but i just don't think we are in a position to take him any higher because of other needs.

Coffman looks like he has pretty good hands but he looks too much like Cottam to me, except Cottam is bigger and faster. Cottam didn't catch as many balls in college bc of injuries but he did show that he has pretty good hands. Cottam does have big time potential. Didn't he run like a 4.7 or something. That's really fast for 6'7" 270.

I don't see us picking a TE this year unless we trade Gonzo. How many TEs do you want on the roster??? And most of the the time, the 3rd TE has to be able to be a back up fullback.

Coffman has great hands and great feet. He has great body coordination all around.

Coffman would be a great addition.

I would also be very pleased if we drafted Cornelius Ingram (TE, FL)

yeah Cottam has the better speed and is a better blocker, but he doesnt compare to Coffman in receiving skills. Coffman has exceptional hands, body control, and focus. He would be a huge red zone threat along w/ D Bowe.

Yes, because you can become the #1 all time pass-catching TE in the NCAA by not being able to stay on the field. And in another post you said he wasn't athletic...huh? Have you seen him catching the ball or getting YAC yardage? Your statements are uninformed at best. You probably wanted Vernon Davis, didn't you? Is he the best TE in the draft based on your "measurables"? No, but he will end up being in the top 3 after a couple years.

The Chiefs can find a center, guard, or RT in the third round.

TE is a low priority position, with or without Tony Gonzalez.

I was pissed last year when the Chiefs took Cottam with Jeremy Zuttah still on the board.

Chase Coffman will be a Raider..... I hate that almost as much as seeing my UCF guy Marshall as a Donk.

Zuttah isn't any good. You missed nothing.

what are you basing "he's a better blocker" on? Not really looking to pick on it, but on college or the 10 plays he has played in the nfl

It's because Coffman wasn't asked to block much in college so people just figure he can't. Coffman has plenty off size and is a quality worker. I don't see any reason why he won't develop into a solid blocker at the very least.
