That is some fine work right there. Well done Clayton. Best laugh I had all day.

Thanks. Someone with voice talent should send me a recording of those lines. I could make a hilarious video!

Almost every single HC that has won a SB has a reputation as a demanding hardass.

From Vince Lombardi to Hank Stram to Chuck Noll to Bill Walsh to Jimmy Johnson to Bill Bellichick to Mike Tomlin.

The only "nice guy" coaches to win are Dick Vermeil and Tony Dungy.

Since when does being demanding equate to being disrespectful?

Did he call Croyle names or something?

He just emphasized his point with a few choice words.

You are overreacting.

I think Haley cares more that his players have self-respect. Pushing them to be their best and not tolerating the mental mistakes or soft play is going to do that more than being their best friend or being soft on them. That was Herm's way. And it led to a team that had almost no self-respect. He's in charge of getting rid of their stinking thinking. He's the one who will give them their check up from the neck up.

I disagree with your analysis. I tend to believe that Todd Haley understands football psychology 101 just fine.

Pen, where have you been? Seems you've been MIA on the dark side...

Maybe. But chances are they will just accept him vs. respect him. No one likes to see a teammate or coworker or student belittled because they know one day it could be them.

Again, fear and intimidation are a motivator only to a point.

What he did with Croyle was not belittling him. Now if he had called him a dumb **** then you might have an argument. But the mere act of expressing his disapproval in the aggressive way he did probably got Croyle's attention. It was clearly a teaching moment. One that was delivered with tough love.

Nice dodge there, Pen. I know why you've been MIA. I would be too. I'll give you a break till you decide to show up there. :D

'the do you hear me' sounds like a Dad talking to a freakin 4 year old. That was condescending. My God, the guy knows enough about playing QB and snapping a Gdamn ball that he made to the freakin NFL.

The guy is just a jackass. I don't like him and I hope I'm wrong about him because the Chiefs need to start winning.

Croyle was staring off into space somewhere else.

That's why he said that.

Evidently not. That's why he didn't snap the ball. Explaining Haley's ire.

Just when I thought I couldn't feel any better about Haley.

You only think you know. Which is par for the course for you. I've been around and I still keep up with it but my input is irrelevant. Way too much zealotry going on for my taste. Most people don't really read what others have to say anyway.

He probably wouldn't have had to say that to him if Brodie had been looking at him instead of acting as though he wasn't paying attention.
