Agreed about losing the players. If he still has their support then what the fans, the media, or the management have to say is not really relevant right now. But IF, big if, he's already losing players and the locker room is not jelling in a way that will cause the players to become a team then he needs to go sooner rather than later. No, not after 3 games.

You have a locker room full of young and inexperienced players. Do we really have the time for a coach to learn how to do his job while simultaneously trying to lead others to do the same? The mix of so much newness, inexperience, and youth is not one that stands to withstand a great deal of adversity. There is just not the foundation or security within the team or the organization at this point to spiral downward faster than before even if we are 'rebuilding.'

Sad though, I don't see us going anywhere until we step up the O-line, same story for the past 4 years, and get some God Damn WR's.

He reminds me of some other inexperienced dude who took a job he was not yet qualified for and we are all reaping what he's sowing.

This year they get a pass.

Next year it should be 6 wins minimum.

vailpass 09-28-2009 12:30 PM

3 games into his first season with a team that won 2 games last year? Fire him?
For who? Denny Green?

6 wins might be lenient even.

I had hoped they could muster 5 or 6 this year. Vermeil did it.

Yes, but we had a much better line in '01. I'll be surprised to see them win 4 with this OL. If we had any WR worth a shit in '01 we'd have won 8 or 9. Our current OL may just be the worst I've ever seen.

Vermiel was no 'nice guy' HC.

His players constantly bitched about how hard on them he was behind the scenes, but they'd all kill themselves for him because he also showed that he cared about them. Sure, he was emotional in pressers and when things went well, but he tore many a new asshole behind the scenes when things didn't.

Vermiel was exactly what a HC should be in terms of how he handles his players. He needed a better defensive coordinator and a GM that would address his team's weaknesses. He was too loyal to his staff and that's what kept him from winning here. However, you'll never find a coach that better understands how to deal with his players.

I can't believe you honestly see Vermiel as "grandpa Dick" or you'd ever consider Todd Haley an upgrade over him.

I don't give a shit about DV. In fact, I kinda dislike him at this point for wasting that great offense we had for a few yrs and did not do shit about the D. If Haley doesn't fix the OL, same goes for him.

This is STUPID.

It's the 3rd week of his first season, the oline sucks, and the roster is lacking of talent.

I'll suffer as patiently as I can this year....and look for significant improvement next season.

Carl is gone....Carl is gone.....Carl is gone....Herm is gone....Herm is gone.....Herm is gone.

Carl and Herm are GONE!

I said I'd be fine with a shitty season of rebuild last offseason if Carl left.....I can't change the direction of the boat this time.

I don't really remember. My point is I don't give a shit if he yells. He's the boss. Its up to him to get his players to play. I'm so glad we have a coach that makes players accountable for when they **** up. However, I just hope he admits when he ****s up.

Demonpenz 09-28-2009 03:08 PM

welp looks like most people want him to stay

It's just more evidence that the average "adult" has the attention span of a 3 year old.
