Either KC is working behind the scenes on a couple of players, or they don't have an extreme interest in the "name guys" in FA this year...

A lot of the "name guys" won't make it to KC. It doesn't mean that KC had no interest.

If any signings take place, probably won't know about it until its already done. We're the Chiefs, in the middle of nowhere, etc.

I didn't realize K. Faulk is a F/A.

Welcome to KC kevin, im sure we'll see you soon. And can you pick up Neal and Watson on your way in? Pioli has there contracts ready.

We're not going to sign name guys. We'll stockpile some 3rd tier FAs and cull "The Tree" as much as possible

How about no.

Faulk is 600 years old, Neal is a broke dick, and Watson is a ****ing bum.

I disagree. If you target and want a player, you let them know your willing to pay, and they will at least visit.

Lets take Burleson for example, and this is just an example. He gets calls from 3 different teams all saying we are willing to pay. He makes up his mind that he's going to visit all three: Detroit, KC, and Chicago. Logistically he decides to go from Detroit to KC then onto Chicago.

He gets to Detroit, they want him. They tell him they'll give him 5 years for $25 million with $11 million guaranteed. They also tell him that if he leaves town for other visits the deal is off the table. Take it or leave it. He will take it every time. Thus, KC was interested but never got a chance.

Unfortunately that's not how it works. I have a buddy who is an agent in the NFL, and has told me numerous times that he and his players know before the visit what teams are willing to pay. There isn't a team in the league that says, "here's your offer, take it or leave it."

This is bull****. It's also a great way, if used, to make sure that no FA ever signs with your team.

KCrockaholic 03-05-2010 10:58 AM

Anyone notice? Eagles and Patriots have offered Peppers a contract. Chicago is his last visit.

BryanBusby 03-05-2010 10:59 AM

Dolphins gonna release S Gerbil Wilson today

The Franchise 03-05-2010 11:35 AM

I find it odd that there has been no mention of Kevin Walter anywhere.

Bill Lundberg 03-05-2010 11:38 AM

Rolle to the Giants is reportedly "95%" done.
