Yeah, it would suck to have signed a WR that is three years younger and has actually produced on a consistent basis.

It wouldn't have sucked, but are you convinced he's a better option than Chambers?

I can't believe anyone thinks a 31 year old WR that hasn't produced in over 5 years is the answer.

But hey, to each their own.
Seems to me that he produced quite well here just last year.

What about the 5 years before that?

Please, quit acting like Chambers is a good WR.

Unless you think that 30 catches and 550 yards is acceptable from your WR2.

(Because that's what he's averaged the past 5 years)

Let's cut to the chase though.
Who should we have gone after?

Visits apparently don't mean shit with this crew, but since Sproles is off the table I'd pursue Jones over Fargas instead of having a rusty nail shoved up my Peeholi since you asked.

I'd draft the best KR/PR/RB/Slot I could find past round 1.

Hey, he broke 700 yards for the first time in half a decade.

Party time.

Chambers played the position very well last year. I don't know if that was just playing for a contract or what. But it's hard to deny that his play last year was the best the Chiefs have seen at receiver in a very long time. Not that that's saying much.

This fan base has a hard time letting go.

Not sure how they're more relevant than last year...

Sure thing...when you stop pretending that Kevin Walter's any better.

Last year in 9 games... 600+ yards and 4 TD's.
Project those numbers out over a full year...and...I'll take it.

Fargas and Jones both would be huge upgrades over Kolby Smith and Jackie Battle. I'd be happy with either.[/durrrr]

Titty Meat 03-07-2010 08:33 PM

He's 32 years old.

I'm not sure how that diminishes what he did for this team last year.

I doubt anybody's looking at this as anything more than a 2-year stopgap.

Yes he is...
That's why you draft Golden Tate/Arrelious Benn/Mardy Gilyard in about 7 weeks.

When we could sign a guy for the same price who will produce for another 5 years?

Bowser 03-07-2010 08:36 PM

Hey, I'm all for re-signing Chambers, but I'm under no illusions that he will put us over the top. And as far as Walter goes, TBG nailed it - how good is this guy on a team where he's not playing opposite Andre Johnson?

We're sure that Kevin Walter is going to produce until he's 34?
Come on...
