This is a dumb thread. ANY group of fans can be fair weather. Any team that goes on a losing streak loses fans. If the Patriots only won 10 games in 3 years, they would have a significant drop in ticket sales.

And any team that has a resurgence like the Chiefs this year will gain fans. I have been here through it all and continued posting. But I will admit that my interest in the last couple years has been down. Oh sure, I watched the games (at least until I couldn't stand it anymore). But I just didn't follow the team as much as I had in previous years.

That doesn't make me a fair weather fan. It is hard for many fans to justify a time, money, and emotional commitment to a team when the product on the field sucks.

And did you ever stop to think that some of these n00bs are just new fans to the game? When I was in my late teens, the Chiefs started playing winning football. I had never been really into football. I just didn't have that influence growing up (my dad was into racing and wrestling). I don't remember exactly what made me start watching the Chiefs, but something caught my attention early in 1990. Once I started watching them, I was hooked. Maybe some of these new fans are just like that.

When the Chiefs win you disappear.. When the lose, you have all the answers..

Impossible! The standard belief here is that if you havn't been a member of CP since it's inception and have eleventy billion posts, you must be a "fairweather" fan. Really sad....

I like to read and not post a lot. For this makes me a lurker. But I get a lot of good information from here. I would rather get it from here than those other un-named message boards that suck ( and most of you know the one I am talking about):D

Sure, if one spends all day every day on here, we might consider that they have no life. But I think you should consider posts per day counts before being such a judgmental asshole.

This. I don't understand why this bugs people. Even if some are "fair weather" fans, so what? At least they're posting about football.

The important thing to remember here is that (except for the cheating goat fans and the raider escapees with their Darth Vader helms and semi-dried skunk penis key chain fobs) we are all fans of a great team with a great tradition ... forever bonded by our endless efforts to clamber out of the deep, dark pit of failure only to succumb once more to the eternal suck that continuously drags us down into the depths of oblivion and despair ... so be proud and be united for only the few and the severely emotionally challenged can tolerate what a Chiefs fan may endure.

Well son, since I have been a Chiefs fan before your mom shat you out and have not missed a Chiefs game in 10 years, I would say that you infact are the lesser fan. As such, I will be happy to allow you to join us "real" fans in rooting for our Chiefs
