hmm....

I remember the fear of him in Oakland....

I also remember the bashing he took from us chiefs fans for quiting on plays...

Now we want him?

Thig Lyfe 11-01-2010 01:47 PM

I wonder if he ever established any sort of rapport with Cassel in NE?

DMAC 11-01-2010 01:48 PM

I think the lambs or the titans are better candidates.

RealSNR 11-01-2010 01:49 PM

I'd love to see Haley interact with Moss. I think we could be MORE successful at transforming Moss than Belichick and the Pats.

I might have worded my response poorly. I meant if both of those things were true as they are for the Chiefs right now. But, just in case...

Did he quit in his rookie year? It's been a while and I know stats don't tell the whole story, but over 1300 yards and 17 TDs plus 148 yards and 2 TDs in the playoffs. Pretty good for quitting. As far as the Raiders, while he did not play well I would say that falls well into the "not winning" category. That whole team was/is a cancer. I didn't think he quit on the Pats and he definitely didn't quit in his first season.

The guys clearly an asshole, but has shown that when put in a good position, he can be a game changer. Low risk, high reward. Take him if we can get him.

The Rams are the only ones I could see......but I don't even know if they'd want him.

Let's imagine for a minute that he would be good for this team instead of bad for it. We are so far down the waiver list, there is no way we are getting him.

kstater 11-01-2010 01:50 PM

I think it's likely he's claimed by either SD or Denver.

Here's the deal with Moss: even knowing everything I know about him, as a Patriot fan I'd welcome the dude back. Because the bottom line is, even if he doesn't catch a ball during a game, he spreads the field and commands attention.

He only caught one pass yesterday because that's how the Patriots wanted it. He was blanketed, passed from linebacker to defensive back, and kept an eye on at all times. But doing that made Percy Harvin have a field day. There's a good reason Welker's numbers have gone down, as well as Brady's, in the games since Randy left: the field is no longer stretched but is instead compressed, making it harder to run those short routes. The Patriots have had to run the ball, play better defense, and--yes--get some breaks.

As a Chief, with Randy stretching the field, it would create a lot more room and less attention for Bowe and Moeaki. And with the running game the Chiefs already have... shit, Moss could never catch a pass and still help the Chiefs win.

and his blocking?

I don't see him a as worth the trouble
maybe if we had a QB that could pass
but still a maybe

Brock 11-01-2010 01:53 PM

I don't personally think he'll be claimed off of waivers.

RealSNR 11-01-2010 01:53 PM

This is speculation, but what Moss said in his press conference was clearly an indictment against his coach and his team/the way they were run.

He signs with that circus in San Diego and how do you think he'll react to Norv Turner? About as well as Brad Childress is my guess.

GoTrav 11-01-2010 01:54 PM

Seattle and Miami showing interest per NFL Network. Does Moss have any choice in where he goes or is he just stuck with whatever team claims him?

Well, he can obviously choose to retire instead, but otherwise no. It goes in descending order from worst (Bills) to first (New England). If no one claims him by 4pm tomorrow, I think, he's a free agent.
