Q: Someone from the organization offered to me that you cancelled a team meeting before the Bears game in Chicago, do you have any comments on that?

HALEY: “Really? We did not have a team meeting in Chicago, but there’s been a number of occasions where I haven’t had team meetings. They were right too, I was out, I went out with my wife and two daughters who came in for the game to have pizza but well after any internal meetings would have been or were over with.”

Q: So there was no meeting scheduled and cancelled, there was just not supposed to be a meeting?

HALEY: “No, we had our meetings and sometimes I choose to talk to the team and sometimes I choose not to. That goes on during the week, it goes on before the games, as a matter of fact I didn’t talk to them the night before the Steeler game either, or the morning of when we had that at least scheduled meeting. But we had our offense, defense meetings and we all just sat around and ate together and watched some college football as opposed to me talking more, which sometimes I’m sure I get talked out. Between you guys and…”

I don't get this. This team plays hard for him. And he's gotten the most out of the talent he has. That's what you want out of a head coach. He doesn't have a coaching problem. He has a talent problem. That's on pioli.

If someone is leaking stuff like this, it ain't Pioli, it's someone else in the organization who doesn't like Haley...

Gosh, he's so God dang loveable that is hard to believe anyone would feel that way.

Good luck with that one. I hope you didn't have to become cross with them.

His team seems to love him.

On the other hand, EVERYBODY seems to think pioli is an asshole.

I think I know which side I'm on.

I don't think you need to be on a side. This team is improved if our big guns don't go down. We get a good draft again with a quality QB, pick up a couple free agents that workout and bam, playoff wins.

Or we fire Haley, disrupt forward momentum, and hire a coach who ends up sending us either sideways or backwards.

I like what Haley's doing for this team. But it's sounding more and more like he's just fed up with the front office.

I hate to say it, but I also get that feeling, Mr. chiefzilla1501.

I get the impression that people are taking Haley's "I'm surprised but I guess I shouldn't be" as him saying "I'm surprised somebody with the team would call and plant some story to smear me, but I guess I shouldn't be".

What he said actually seemed directed more to Parkins, like "I'm surprised you'd even ask me about something so stupid, but I guess I shouldn't be."
