Can he play safety?

Oh not at all. I just see people saying no all the time but never providing any other names.

Thig Lyfe 12-12-2011 02:58 PM

No Turner Gill option?

Yea hiring a "hungry" OC really worked out well for us.

Why on earth are people voting for Gruden and Cowher?

No HC has won a Superbowl for 2 different teams.

Sofa King 12-12-2011 03:32 PM

What's the deal with Joe Philbin. GB's O cord.

He looks like a dumbass but perhaps he's what we need. Won't be able to interview him until after he wins another superbowl though.

Oh that's right. McCarthy does. Good call. That explains why his name never comes up.

Who's coaching at Baker University now? Maybe we can find the next McCarthy.

Mike McCarthy OC of the 49ers before hire
Sean Peyton OC of the NYG (SB XXXV) and de facto OC for the Cowboys
Mike Tomlin DC of the Vikings
Tony Dungy former coordinator couldn't get over the top with the Bucs
Bill Cowher DC of the Chiefs before hire
Bill Belichick former DC who could not get over the top with Browns
Brian Billick former OC of the Vikings
Jon Gruden former OC who could not get over top with Raiders
Mike Shanahan former OC who could not take the Raiders anywhere
Mike Holmgren OC of the 49ers

So, what's the connection? All former coordinators. The only Super Bowl winning coaches that were not coordinators were Tom Coughlin who was HC at BC and Dick Vermeil who was HC for UCLA. That's going back 15 year in Super Bowl history. Seiffert was a coordinator as were Walsh, Gibbs, Parcelles, Flores, Noll, Landry, Lombardi. Get the idea?
