The conversation was about "retreads" and I put that into perspective. Unfortunately for you, that perspective exposes your dismissive attitude as misguided.

Isn't Hasselbeck about to be 40? Can the dude even start anymore?

actually that's not what I said. I said a guy like hasselbeck. He was an example.

But I think a guy like that could win as many games as Smith with our team this year. While having no chance to be stuck with him for years

The conversation was about retreads vs guys on their original teams.

Not top ten guys, not first rounders.

He was just a name. An example. You know an older qb who knows the system and can stop gap for a year or two

Like I said, weak argument if your intention is to disparage retreads (as appears to be the case given that you started this by saying Len Dawson ****ed us).

No its not. Sorry you don't understand.

A guy with his first team is a guy with his first team. You can't leave that out because it doesn't make your point

Baldwin to TE solves all QB woes

Well, Alex will get a chance to prove himself. The talent is there for 10-11 wins. Will he hold us back?

OrtonsPiercedTaint 05-18-2013 07:05 PM

They played shitty for the wrong Smitty.

We've got Tyler Bray for that so we have both bases covered and Len Dawson didn't **** anyone.

Not a chance. He's perfect for this team. Accurate, high percentage passes, letting Charles and Bowe be the playmakers and keeping the ball out of the defenses hands.

Keeps the offense on the field and the defense fresh into the 4th quarter where Hali and Houston can just tee off on the QB.

Think about the fact that Houston and Hali got 10 and 9 sacks respectively in 2013 when they had to face a run oriented offense for the vast majority of the games they played in as the Chiefs were down and out of nearly every game by the first quarter.

If A. Smith does what he did the past two seasons in SF, that's more than enough to let our high-end playmakers be just that.

Again, we need to get over this "Alex keeps your defense fresh" bullshit.

The dude sucks on third down. He doesn't convert third downs. Get it through your THICK SKULL.

I think you are going to see a different set of parameters being established with A. Smith this next season, especially as it pertains to third down situations.

Shit, I don't think you'll even see a lot of third downs with Charles averaging 6+ ypc and Bowe leading the league in receptions.

However, I think that the potential of utilizing A. Smith in a quasi-spread/pistol system that is likely to be seen in 2013 will help with those previous third down numericals you are alluding to with regard to Smith's previous seasons.
