I always liked to kicked young kids too.

Originally I was a little pissed about the Detroit win. But thinking about it, not only does this move us closer to the playoff hunt, but it's gotta have some residual effect on Oakland, just like I believe Game 4 against the Tigers had a lasting effect on our homestand against CHI and WAS.

We needed Detroit to sweep Oakland.

No we didn't.

Oakland's next 3 games are against Tampa Bay. If we take care of business, IF, we are guaranteed to gain ground on someone for the #2 WC.

Not to mention that after that series, Oakland plays the Rangers while we come home for 4 against the Mariners (albeit one against Felix).

Time is ticking, no doubt. And I'd say that we probably need to win at least 5 of the next 7 games to make things really interesting. But we didn't need a sweep of Oakland.

Indians just lost their third straight. Royals only 2 behind them now.

Royals just need to keep winning. No more getting swept...taking 2/3 in each series at the minimum.

I hate the idea that a piece of shit city like NY might have a team that could get in the way of something good. Alas, Lucifer is at work if NY is playing sports well...
