I dont think he is any worse than Joe Flacco or Eli Manning....and their teams were able to win a superbowl with them.

I don't think he has the mental makeup that those guys do. At all.

I hope it's just the 49ers and not Dorsey.

i imagine the Chiefs would love to move Flowers for a 3rd and would jizz if they could get a 2nd.

If you think Chiefs got fisted, then why not look at this as getting even?

He's a QB, of course he did. But his value compared to Flowers last season means nothing in this debate.

We have up a 2.1 and another 2nd rounder in "TEH DEEPIST DRAFT THE LAST 20 YEEEZ!!!" for a guy that was probably worth no more than a 3rd at the time.

However it would be criminally stupid to trade Eric Berry unless it's some kind of ridiculous deal like a top 10 pick this year, someone's first next yr and a 2nd or 3rd the following year.

Which that would never happen....so therefore it's stupid as shit to trade Eric Berry.

I don't want to trade Berry, either, but that's just ridiculous. Two firsts and a second?

His $ for a QB vs. Flowers $ for a DB.......was money well spent for the QB, not so much for Flowers

If the playoff game is any indication, that money was extremely well deserved.

I'll take their 3rd.

It's best to draft a CB round 1, stand firm at your asking price for a #2, and ultimately end up with a 2018 comp pick.

Ebolapox 05-08-2014 12:51 PM

newsflash: chiefs open to shitting down their legs year after year.

ROFL

People put too much stock into PFF's final grade.

Flowers had the toughest assignments of any of KC's corners. Cooper and Smith gave up more TD's. Flowers IIRC got beaten pretty bad by Dez Bryant, but held his own against other top WRs. He held DJax to 3 receptions, Welker to 3 in the 2nd matchup. Not much help over the top, etc.

They will need to restructure his deal for next year, but to act like some 3rd+ round draft pick is going to come in and easily replace him is just a pipe dream.

Flowers is a bad fit for Sutton's D.

He's not fast enough to cover man on man with no safety help and that seems to be pretty much the coverage Sutton runs more often than not.

Sutton asked him to shadow some of the most productive receivers last year. Except for Bryant, he did pretty well.

So basically, Flowers turned QBs into Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers last year. Despite playing on a team with one of the easiest schedules in the NFL.

Oh - and he's constantly hurt and makes a lot of money and he's old for a corner. Yeah I'd say every team wants a guy just like that at LCB.

Smith and Cooper gave up more touchdowns because they were covering deep.

Flowers was playing the slot most of the year
