But I'm not a great big Wilson fan. He has a lot of potential, but as of now, he's not too different from Alex Smith. If Alex Smith averaged 175 yards per game in the playoffs, people on this board would be going crazy.

7th in YPC vs 28th.

Not too different at all!

6-2 in the playoffs, 1-1 in Super Bowls.

According to CP, there are at least 1/2 dozen teams that would sign their souls away for a QB of Alex Smith's "caliber".

In the case of a Wilson possibility, the phone lines are open you 6 lucky contestants!

I think my head is going to explode trying to understand why fans wouldn't want Wilson on our team.

Throw out all the stats and watch the games. The guy can flat out play.

New World Order 06-21-2015 08:52 PM

What were Alex Smith's stats his first 3 seasons?

Did any of those include 2 super bowl appearances?

There is chatter that Wilson wants to have the first fully guaranteed contract. If true, that would absolutely give me pause because of how much he runs with the ball. Especially given the cost of 2 firsts.

That's a trade that CAN burn a whole franchise if he were to suffer a serious injury.

People on this site apparently wouldn't have given up two 1sts for Brady after his first Super Bowl ... His numbers weren't that great!!

Morons. It's a dumb conversation since Seattle will never let him get away but two 1sts would be the biggest steal of all time

Hootie 06-21-2015 09:08 PM

Anyone who watches Russell Wilson and concludes he's a lot like Alex Smith doesn't deserve to have an opinion, about anything, ever

Let's say he wants a 6 year deal with 80% guaranteed that averages 25 per

Does that change your mind?

To me, it doesn't...but I'm a gambler

Would you like to compare the teams he was playing on with the teams Wilson was playing on?

Smith has been a fantastically efficient passer dating back to the season after his shoulder injury was surgically corrected. There's no reason to believe he couldn't have done what Wilson did.

Where do I sign?

Yes there is. Because Russell Wilson throws the ball down the field. Alex hasn't, doesn't and never will.

You know you're just begging Simply Red to give up his hiatus and come bursting in here with his Alex Smith video, right?
