I think that's a fair question.

Beckham just set the record for most receiving catches, yards and TDs (IIRC) of any WR in his first 25 games. He's pretty incredible.

Gronk probably has a bit more sway on the outcome of a game but he's also got injury concerns and the aforementioned HOF QB issue. I'd really like to see how he does without Brady.

I agree but hes stating it like WR is a useless position. . Im a huge fan of the TE position. . but i still see the value in having a top WR. .

and as a pats fan he should realize how important someone like eldeman is or maybe a better example would be David Tyree ;)

Never said WRs are useless. I think they are something of an unnecessary luxury.

If I have Alex Smith as a QB, I take Gronk. I take Beckham if I have Big Ben, Manning, Bortles, Stafford, Ryan, etc.

Was Moose or Michael more important to the Cowboy's dynasty with Aikman? [Emmitt and the OL are separate questions]

A FB or a WR? Do you really have to ask which is more important.

And yet whenever Brady or any other elite QB has a bad/off game, what usually gets the blame from Pats fans? "Brady lost all his weapons, bad o-line," etc. Fans can never make up there mind when it comes to the value top WRs and TEs provide.

WRs are definitely not an "unnecessary luxury," as you see top QB numbers/stats dip all the time when they don't have great receiving talent whether it's by injury or the lack of offensive weapons.

Brady looks like dogshit without Edelman and Gronk

He must have meant Jay Novacek...

Gronk (64) already has 5 more TDs than Witten (59)in their careers. Witten is considered by many to be a future H.O.Fer.

If both retired today, which one deserves it more? Witten is top 10 all-time in catches, but doesn't have any postseason success.

Brady has been a better QB than Romo and has demonstrated an ability to get production out of JAG players, so the edge goes to Witten in that aspect. Beside that, it's too early to compare Gronk with Witten given the age disparity.

Witten's comparison is Heath Miller. Gronk's current comp is Jimmy Graham? Maybe?

Sure he gets production from the "JAGs," but it's not like he's had the GOAT TE level production before from a TE so this is just ridiculous. There's no point in this hypothetical because Gronk isn't going to retire today so what's the point? Besides Gronkowski is a much much better player and it's not even close, and there's the whole ring argument too, in which Gronk contributed greatly to achieve.

He has a strong upside but he seems to have at least one bonehead move every game.

I believe it was last week that he ran a slant and scored a touchdown.

It was a nice play, nice catch.

But .... he went down to make the catch and then roll over. He immediately flip the ball into the air and started celebrating. He's lucking the refs didn't say that it was incomplete because he didn't maintain possession through the ground.

He just can't seem to help himself, he's an idiot.

An athletic,physical,talented ..... idiot.

He was at the table next to us at Q39...but he was leaving as we got here.
