1sts 2nd and 3rds looked decent to good.

IMO, not the run defense. The first team DL got pushed off the line and had real issues. As a result, LB's got eaten up in the trash. 2nd team looked solid. Lots of depth there so not really concerned.

Dee Ford looked lost. Ought to be real concerns there.

I know Gains didn't play, but he needs to be ready to play when it's time. Not sure we have another legit #2 CB candidate.

DJ White needs to get some first team reps ahead of Steve Nelson.

I was very impressed with him at camp.

Another interesting play for me was a 3rd and 3 play from our own 33 yard line at the 13:30 mark of the 2nd quarter. Foles made a nice pass to Harris to pick up the 1st down on the play. That is not the interesting part of the play for me though. Check out the top of the screen. That is Hill lined up on the outside, with no help over the top. Hill is pulling even with the CB by the 37-38 yard line and going past him by the 40. The pass is just coming out at that point, but the CB does not know that and is still running with Hill with his back to the QB. By the 45, Hill had a full step on the CB. A pass over the top, and that is a TD.

That was spooky, but after a good nights sleep I'm honestly not too concerned

It was just a bad showing, theres no way Bailey, Poe and Howard consistently look like that... it'll get tightened up

Let's give the Seahawks credit too. They might have the best running back stable in the NFL, right up there with ours. Tom Cable also knows how to scheme the run game and gets the most out of his linemen. Good physical test for the Chiefs front and linebackers.

Rawls and Michaels are the best RB stable in the NFL? :spock:

Let's not go crazy. Seattle has a decent backfield, but no one is close to Charles, Ware, and West.

Yeah, Cable is no joke as an O line coach, he always seems to have 5 maulers

Not sure about the statement regarding their backfield, though :)

I think what Chief Northman was trying to say, or should've said, is that they have the ability to plug and play like us. They get production from whoever is back there.

mcaj22 08-14-2016 11:35 AM

that's because they still use a fullback and 47 TEs just like us to flush soft LBers completely out of the picture.

I will of course join the chorus of huzzahs for the O line, I knew they were going to be outstanding

The tiny screen I had to watch made it difficult to evaluate individual linemen consistently, but one thing did stand out... every single time I looked down the line with the first team, the right side was a Stone Wall, nary an inch of movement off the LOS

On the big pass to Maclin, Smith had all. damn. day. back there, I remarked in the game thread that he had time to drink a cup of coffee... just wait until they've had 4-5 games together :thumb:

He had so long that the play we could have been flagged for linemen down field at the end. Looked like the right half of the line thought Smith was going to take off instead of bounce it out to the left.

Fixed.

This is what really stood out. Wilson was finesse and March was aggressive and nasty.
