Lol seriously doubt it unless Bray is absolute trash.

Yeah, I'm not buying the whole "Bray finally gets it now"(!)-bullshit either. There is no reason for Mahomes to NOT compete for the #2 slot.

Nick Foles wasn't necessarily a burden to bring aboard for one season, but given the Chiefs have been trying to draft and develop a suitable #2 QB ever since this regime started, it's pretty glaring that they would pull the trigger on Foles when he came by at a fairly inconvenient time for the franchise. We STILL had to make room on the payroll to squeeze him in, and if you've been drafting guys in the 5th round and later for several years in an attempt to find a backup, getting a guy like Foles for one season kind of ****s up everything you were trying to do. You're creating one fewer roster spot to carry over the development of the QBs from year to year, and you only get one season out of it, not multiple.

Was he better than Murray, Bray, and Hogan? Of course he was. But if the Chiefs were at all interested in making use of their investments, signing Foles is a bad idea. The only reason it makes sense is because you say to yourself, "These slapdicks ****ing suck. Time to start over."

I could very easily see the Chiefs getting to training camp with Bray as the 2, and then after one or two preseason games going, "Uhh... this shit can't happen."

Who would be available that they could bring in? No clue. The Nick Foles thing just kind of happened magically for them. I don't know if that would take place again. It's gotta be somebody with a direct link to Reid's offense, because even a veteran with years in a SIMILAR system only has a couple weeks to be BETTER than the guy currently in place who knows the system but can't ****ing play.

I dont know why this is a story or people question or have a problem with it. Of course he is 3rd string at this point. He doesn't know the play book and he has to learn how to control a huddle etc.

He will likely begin training camp as the 3rd string and stay that way for at least half of it. If Bray excels, which I think he will, I could see Mahomes stay 3rd string when the season begins.

This thread is pretty amusing after the Denver game on New Year's Eve. One would think Bray is going to be released after that disastrous performance. They need to find a solid backup for Mahomes.

Bray is gone.

Bray was Naggy’s project.

No Naggy. No Bray.

Really had hopes for Murray. Good news for him he's a natural in front of the camera.

Bray is a giant sack of monkey shit. Solid grasp of the offense? Dear god people. The amount of praise a broke dick gets around here is stunning.

I had forgotten about this thread, and that people actually thought he was going to develop into something other than garbage.

I will say though...perhaps Bray's best contribution to the team over the long haul will be shitting the bed and allowing Denver to tie that game. Gave Mahomes a 2 minute drill as a rookie against Von Miller. Chiefs success on that drive is something for Pat, Andy, and the rest of the coaches to build on while Pat develops.

Every time I see Mahomes' name I smile a little...

...and pinch myself.
