Cutting Reid saves you 3 million right?

Hoover 08-30-2017 12:35 PM

After dumping Dorsey, who would have ever thought the Chiefs could dramatically improve their roster with just 8 days before the season. These are termendous moves that provide depth and protection in areas this year but huge opportunity next season.

Mother****er, I'm crushing hard for Brett Veach.

Didn't see that coming. Damn!

I wouldn't wet yourself just yet. These guys need to actually develop a little

Yeah both Irving and Ragland are on cheap ass rookie deals, so we can actually find cap room. Shit we are addressing the cap and getting better at the same time.

****!

The perfect amount of risk/reward if you ask me. 4/5 round picks are whatever.

Dane, this was one day ago buddy...

Yesterday. YESTERDAY you'd give up no more than a 7th for him. Today a 5th is 'a great value'. C'mon man, you're sucking dick for the sake of sucking it here.

Barney Fife (wannabe posers) have this problem for sure.

Nah I'm not that confident. But this smells like a LG fix to me.

It's just more talented depth that what was on the roster before.

The Chiefs value versatility more than most teams and Erving has played multiple positions, as has Ehinger, Fulton, Morse and Schwartz.

BV has already crunched the numbers. Trust in the VEACH !!

People getting hung up on draft picks. Meanwhile we have the 6th youngest roster in the NFL and are only going to get younger once Tamba and Alex are out next year. Plus these guys have multiple years of control on cheap rookie contracts. Key is going to be whether they fit our scheme and coaching. Good news is we get to see whether Veach can actually evaluate players or not ASAP...

These guys are like Mahommes dude. Best if they don't have to start this year. 10x the talent of any backup we have at the position.

$2 million. $3.5 figure, $1.5 in dead cap. Truly a stupid signing.

With Erving's money added in, you'll end up saving a tick shy of $1 million but you'll also actually clear Reid outright (as opposed to having to eat the remaining $750k next season) so ultimately it's a win.

Erving really does look like a baby giraffe trying to play tackle sometimes, though. He's feet are just so damn bad - no kick step at all, no instincts and his balance is shit.

I still can't believe the Browns (and Direkshun) thought that guy was a 1st rounder.
