it’s not going to effect enough guys for it to matter. and if it’s that big of a deal on a superstar just give him a little raise

Actually I think it looks like a pretty fair CBA proposal.

So every player will get paid an extra game check for the 17th game.

In the "Not For Long" league, many of these players won't even be around when the 17th game kicks in.

Also new contract will be signed with the 17 game schedule in mind.

The $250,000 limit, well those players are getting paid pretty well anyway.

I'm voting for it. Where do we go to cast our votes?

Honestly does look like a new deal. I hope MVP says yes on it tomorrow!

Wilson8 02-20-2020 08:31 PM

So 32 player Reps are going to be real important. They have to have a 2/3 vote for yes before it gets to the rank and file union members.

Nice presents from the owners have been showing up for those reps...or horses heads found in the bed.

Mecca 02-20-2020 08:37 PM

Russell Okung who is a rep is trashing this on twitter...David Bahktiari also doesn't like it. Apparently this is not a win for a lot of guys.

The owners have been pushing for a seventeen game season for a long time. In all the years it’s been brought up I don’t ever remember a player saying that extending the season was a good idea.
I do however remember players basically saying **** that we’re beat up enough as it is in 16 games.
If it does go through I’d expect more players to retire early.

Mecca 02-20-2020 08:45 PM

If this gets voted down there will be a prolonged lockout.

BossChief 02-20-2020 08:46 PM

This is going to end up a 50-50 split on revenue and the cap will be 300m in 5 years...maybe 4.

It’s a “first offer” so OF COURSE the players side is going to take a “hard no” type of stance.

Who expected anything different?

Even if they truly love the deal, this is a major negotiation.

Nope.

Two preseason games and dump the pro bowl. Sure you get the honor of being a pro bowler , but no actual game.

The players deserve better. The power is in the nflpa hands.

49.5 to players max imo. well from what i’ve heard. only 1 vote though...

arrowheadnation 02-20-2020 09:09 PM

This is just the first offer. They'll go back and for giving and taking until they reach an agreement.

BTW....JJ Watt tweeted "that's a hard no" in response to this.
